I'm thinking of switching from AES to MVS(consolized) lately.
Other than cheaper price for games, I'd like to know little more about the consolized system.

Do they use the same old-style joysticks?
Are there any games that are not out for MVS but are out for AES?
Any goods/bads in use of consolized system?

1. A consolized 2slot has the same joystick ports as a home system.
2. No, it's the other way around.
3. Somewhat pricey to have done, is a little bigger than a home system (2slot that is). Good: 2slot has built in memory card reader, bios is socketed so you can swap for unibios easily.

Yes.

No - there are quite a few that are out for MVS but not AES though. The only of game I can think that's more expensive on MVS is SS5S.

The only downside that some people have complained about is the fact that consolized systems look sort of "naked" because they typically have partially exposed PCB(s). Personally it doesn't bother me at all but it gets to some of the more hardcore OCD freaks here. :kekeke:

Same NeoGeo Sticks/Pads/Whatever (If you get a board with connectors like the 4-slot - check hardmvs.com)

Problems - larger, more likely to go wrong I guess since it's work done by a human not a machine on an assembly line...

MVS is great!

Well, if you're gonna consolize a MVS system that doesn't have built in controller ports, you can really make any type of controller port that you want. But the Neo Geo controller port is easy to make, with a simple interface and the connector available at most electronics stores.

My MVS doesn't have controller ports, and I use a supergun, so I don't know how the built in ports work, but I'm not assuming they allow you to insert coins with the select button, like my supergun does :mr_t:
Correct me if I am wrong.

I visited a friend a couple of days ago (Dalle on the forum) who just got his 6 slot board, and we hooked it up with my supergun. The built in controller ports didn't seem to work, but the ones on the supergun worked fine. Do you need to enable them somehow?
