Phantom-1 + Jp AES = sound glitches??

I finally started playing MVS games with my Phantom-1 and a modded Japanese AES. Every MVS game I play with that pairing has sound glitches in the music; Pochi & Nyaa has no sound at all (except at the initial Neo Geo splash screen). I've had almost no trouble at all with my Phantom-1 on my US console.

So, I was wondering: What might cause the problem with the Phantom-1 + Japanese console pairing? AES carts work perfectly in the Japanese unit. The sound troubles only occur constantly when I use the Phantom-1 in that unit.

Also, is it something that can be fixed, or would I need to get a different Japanese AES? The serial number on my Japanese AES is 187537 if that might information might be of any use.

P1's have problems with AES model 3-6. Check what model you have by popping off the top and looking for the large white letter and the far left hand side of the mobo.

Also, new games like Pochi to Nya have a new type of encryption that was not present when the P1 was designed, therefore it may not function perfectly.

I've had problems with MSX and MOTW, both games made in 99, furthermore, they both use uncoventional chipsets. Eventually I just broke down and got the homecarts

If you limit your P1 use to older games, you should be fine. Also there is a good thread still stickied about what Playmore games with function with the P1.
