New 2k3 insert designs

Today, Fatal Fury Fan #2 was asking about the 2k3 insert designs that are out and wanted to know why one hadnt been done like the original (with that silver spine, etc). I thought i'd give it a try but i used another image that i thougt was kinda cool for the front layout.

What do you think of this art?

Fatal Fury Fan #2 then asked if I could do a custom front/back to his preference with the Outlaw Team like this:


He was happy with it and I thought it looked pretty cool. I kept that number backdrop from the art used in the first insert shown above and added some of the elements from my original insert (green blob).

I didnt go 100% match-up with the original insert (i kept spine megcount in place of the screenshot, etc)

They both look pretty sweet. If i had to choose between the 2 i'd probably take the top one. Post em' both up anyways though

I think the top one edges out the victory, but both of them look pretty fucking awesome. Great work!

Both good... That first one has to be one of the best individual homebrew inserts out there though! If I didn't have all of my KoF games printed up as a set I would be all over it in a second... now if there were a KoF set that was stylized like that first one...

Did you acquire the first illustration on the first insert image from that Arcadia mook?? Is that the full illustartion or did you cut it down?
I have a large poster of that I was going to scan down as soon as I figured out the best way to do it.
I never liked the SNKP cover and always thought it should have been the 1st onee you used.
