Here's hoping the original 2D backgrounds are included... being a starving college kid, I can't afford the AES versions of both these titles (at least for a while), and I want to be able to experience the original games - or at least as close as possible to the originals while still being a port.

I think the original BGs are in 2003, not sure about 2002 though. Yes, the option of having the originals would be great since the original hand drawn art is damn cool IMO.

I've got both import versions, so I can confirm:

-Yes, the 2D backgrounds are available.
-Yes, you can pick between arranged and original BGM in 2003.

-WHY you'd want to is beyond me, since the BGs in 2002 are simply the original 2D versions made 3D, and the BGs in 2003 are brand new and look great. You can also use a "soften" filter in 2003 to help the sprites' "jaggy" look appear much smoother.

KOF 2003 also lets you play in the original 3-on-3 mode like KOF '94-'98/2002 have.
