Does anyone have the link to the site which shows an opened PSP and how the bits of the PCB were not removed like they were supposed to be? I had it but lost it and now I can't find it again. I think it was a Japanese site, but I'm not sure as this is the soberest I've been since the 22nd.
I would like to know if its safe to remove those board parts myself so that the buttons no longer squeak? My drive door is very tight and there is not 1 dead pixel to be seen, so only the buttons are bothering me.
As always any help greatly appreciated.

LOL, your buttons squeak too?

On the D-pad, a little use will wear it in so it won't squeak.

I wouldn't change the PCB as it might damage the screen, I mean its RIGHT on the screen.

Sony seems to have a rep of shitty hardware on release! Hope it stops squeaking on you and that is all that is wrong!

I concur, just put some hours into it and it'll be fine...

At least you dont have any other issues with your system.

the site with the opened psp was lik-sang. As others have said, mine squeaked, but after a day or so of use, it stopped (or I stopped noticing it hehe).

Sony in general makes shitty hardware for anything... Everything from stereos to ps2's to headphones and walkmans all look nice during the first uses and then quickly deteriorate... they are only good at establishing a over image.

Because the DS hasn't had its problems. Get over it. I'd hardly call squeaking dpad shitty hardware. Its just working itself in.

Except that that thread was retarded BS. Way to OWN yourself by not looking more carefully.

The only DS problem is that of burnt pixels, which the PSP also sufers from, and Nintendo has a one-dead-pixel replacement policy, and Sony (so far) doesn't.

I also have the squeaky buttons, JOe. It seems rare that a PSP doesn't have any squeaks.

But everything else on my system is perfect (no dead pixels or anything else), like yours, so I will put up with a little break-in squeaking in the meantime.

I have personally seen the following problems on the DS:
-pixels stuck red
-diagonal interference on the screen
-right half of a DS screen MUCH darker than the left half
-very loose screen hinge to the point that the top screen flops around when you press buttons

And I haven't seen all that many DS'.

Sometimes when I touch myself I squeak... but that's a whole nother story altogether.

I have two pair of silver sony dj headphones, I really like them as they sound wonderful. Over time they have become loose and saggy making me yern for a younger tighter set.
