wait for the pictochat art thread,

god I need a digicam now.. sigh

(edit: Mario64 DS is for pussies, the n64 version is loads harder, and remarkably, a hella lot different, I was going to document every change or revision I saw, but I was having too much fun playing :) )

I couldn't tell if it was just easier than the n64 version, or seemed easier since I played the hell out of the n64 version.

I dig some of the new additions. The supersized and floating Mario are pretty cool.

way easier than N64 version

platforms are wider, see the top of the pyramid..!

and raising the sunken ship takes one chest instead of 4 or 5

its like a mario 64 remix.. cool..

the glitches dont work fo rthe 16 star hack win. you cant pick the bunnies up and move em around :crying:

no big deal though

i would say the platforming was made easier because of the touch screen controls, rather than the usual dumbing down for younger kids.

i did think i was kinda easy, but only because i played the 64 version so much.

i have 150 stars :(

i havent used my ds since.

still haven't made it that far (i'm around 50 stars or so), but i'd hate to see the rainbow carpet ride intact from the last level of 64 on the DS. my dpad skillz are fine, but i have camera problems like a mofo sometimes.

I totally disagree, true the n64 had larger platforms and some challenges have been tamed down (not many to be honest) but the n64 pad WAS MADE FOR THIS GAME, and the DS controls (if you don't use the screen, and my thumbs too big) can be hell for precision jumping or even for collecting coins with the wingcap IMHO. Thus it makes sense to allow for this with larger platforms in certain areas, but that is a rare occurance.

:spock:

the DS version IS easier, lots of things have been simplified for stylus play.

it still rocks though.

63 Stars, OMG PWNED :D

I'm using the JAP version, makes it alittle more tricky not having any clues from the star quest's title - even if most of the stars are the same I've forgotten some :D

I totally agree with this, its been a love-hate relationship with my DS thus far. Ive considered dumping her for a GP32, but i constantly find myself fondling the screen, and inserting my carts into her slots, so we've been spending time in the bathtub, and in bed together, and i think were working things out.

Damnit kern I only have 32.

Got the secret star from the ghosts out back and one from somewhere else.

The ghost house is fucking hard. I died like 10 times trying to figure what I was doing in there and still couldnt get the star from big boo.

Here is something that looks simple that has been pissing me off, how do you melt/remove the ice blocks covering the red coin in course 3? (the first snow one)

Use your tongue to eat the campfire on the side of the cliff, then come back, hit A and youll spit fire at the ice block.

You aren't finished. When you have all 150, you're finished.

I'm at 128 now.
