I have a valid EMS trace number for the PSP + games that I won in an eBay auction. The flight info looks okay, as far as the export side of the deal.

But look at this:

http://211.18.214.210/cgi-bin/ems-from-eng?tr_num=EI180220204JP&submit=START

I'm wondering why it hasn't reached San Francisco yet? Is it normal for it to not even have reached customs yet?

PLEASE help alleviate a little of my paranoia by telling me how long it took for you to get your PSP, especially flight info.

Thanks!

I'm having the same problem, however mine was sent on the 22/12/2004 .

Currently trying to sort it out with the seller.

That seems so weird. I can't figure out why that would happen, unless the initial departure was canceled/delayed for some reason.

And I realize that my situation is nowhere near as worrisome as yours must be!

What does your seller think happened?

We're not sure at the moment, i know the seller is genuine so that's ok.

I don't think it has left Japan yet though, bit strange really. I thought it may have come into the UK but not been scanned because of a backlog over xmas, phoned Parcel Force today who told me there is no backlog at all and hasn't been.

See, that's roughly what I was hoping for right there when my seller sent mine off. About 1 day's difference in departure from Japan to arrived in destination country seems logical.

That's my biggest fear... sitting in some random place at the Hakata airport.

On the UK tracker this is what i get:

Parcel number: EI193607853JP
Status: Handed Over

Parcel tracks

Date Time Location Tracking Event
22-12-2004 01:35 OSAKA KANSI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT Left origin country
21-12-2004 21:44 Delivery Agent - JAPAN Collected from customer

Surely the left origin country bit means it has left Japan. Any idea what Handed Over means?

Seems like "handed over" could be referring to either when it was handed to the parcel-shipping company, or when it was handed over to the post in your country.

Not particularly clear to me, though, that's for sure.

Isn't it illegal to ship it out of the country?

I don't think so, if this was the case companies like Play-Asia and Lik Sang wouldn't exist.

Who did you & Jamie buy your PSP's from? not to say you got them from the same person.

Also what values were marked down?

Hey guys. They are sitting in customs. Sometimes the websites aren't updated till it reaches the office the day they are going to deliver it to you. Hope this helps.

Phillip

Sorry it took me forever to read that, yes, very helpful. I forgot that we have members among us with the inside info! Thank you VERY much, Phil- that allays my fear of the thing disappearing altogether.

In response to another question, I bought mine from a guy named 123soichiro. First eBay sale, but I liked his listing a lot, and he has been very pleasant to deal with so far. Left me a postive FB the day after I paid him, which I regard as a sign of good intentions.

I am almost sure that he declared the proper value, which would also quite likely lead to an extended stay in Japanese customs. $612 value on a small package wouldn't make anyone wonder or anything. But with so dang many importers on PSP's, it's too bad they couldn't have a special "small Sony product" category! Ah well.

Again, thanks for the help, Phillip. I know I will sleep easier, and I would guess that Jamie will, too.

I paid for mine on the 21st of December. It left Tokyo Airport on the 22nd. It arrived in the UK on the 28th. I received it at 9am on the 29th.

It should take 5 to 7 days but it's the season bug so it may take longer. During this time of the year I would always have my shipments done by Fed-Ex, more expensive but it takes a max of 3 days.

Yeah, I'm wishing I had paid more to use Fed Ex right now...

@JOe - that makes me feel better, hearing that your PSP's "flight" took six days. I will assume that mine will make its way here sooner or later, and just be patient in the meantime.

@Jamie - keep me updated on the progress of your PSP to the UK.

I havent contacted the seller yet but if it doesn't come 2moro.. :( I know its holiday season but its been a fair old while...

I feel for you guys, Jamie and TT. I wonder if there are more difficulties getting them shipped to the UK for some reason, since that's where you guys are and so is JOe Mushashi.

Mine is actually in the States and cleared customs! On its way here from San Francisco!

Jro, looks like yours is on its way mate, enjoy :)

True Trials, it seems as if yours was on the same flight as mine out of Osaka, pretty strange. Let me know if you get any new info and i will do the same. Cheers mate
