Sound troubles

Hey all, i'm kinda new to the boards but couln't find anything that could help me by using the search. Maybe i'm looking for the wrong topics. but anyhow, after some hesitation i bought myself a jamma cabinet with a 4-slot MVS board. 5 games were included so i certainly don't have the feeling i've got ripped off (especially since i paid ~$100 for the lot). But to the point;

When i power on my cabinet the MVS board turns on and it starts to make the bios sound. Allthough the sound is definitely there, it doesn't sound like it's supposed to. I downloaded an emulator to be sure i'm not hearing ghosts but it's almoast like half the sound is just not there.

So i got into the bios settings menu and tested the sound, both the "left" and "right" option make the same sound, also it seems to come from both my speakers. But when i try the "center" option, i don't hear anything.

Then, I figured i should test my games and try to find out what sounds were missing. but at some games it's the music, and at some games it's the SFX that is missing. So you can understand i'm kind of puzzled about what the real problem is.

I hope you guys can help me out, if you need more information, i'll try and provide it :)

Wire the speakers like this
mvssound.bmp

If its a jamma set up with one speaker connected between jamma pins 10 and L you will get exactly what you have described.

ah thanks, i think that will work out. First i'll check if the wires aren't allready soldered according to your picture.

Allright, I dove into my cabinet and figured it out (well atleast what the problem should be) according to your image, the speaker+ (R) should be attached to 10 and speaker+ (L) should be attached to M.

But, in my case, both the + and - are attached to the same pin. and according to your image i could just cut the minusses and attach them both to a ground? should this ground be on the harness or just any ground? and can i just cut the wires or do i have to remove the solder also?

No, left speaker + is not connected to M, it is connected to L.

Any ground will do, preferably on the jamma/mvs edge connect.
