Is there a way to change the Japanese text on the dashboard to English?

If you install a mod switch and boot in USA mode then it will be in English. If you want to play Japanese games then they will be in Japanese.

Ok, so I guess there is no software Japanese/English switch. It's an unmodded Panasonic Q that I'm waiting to get a Freeloader in for.

PS: The unit came with a copy of Rockman X Mission Control (or something like that) man does this game blow!

If you are careful and take apart the Q,under all the gubbins for the DVD drive and all the other bits right at the bottom of the casing is the cube mobo.Just do the standard jap/us switch mod onto there and locate the switch on the back of the machine.

Job done(although it doesnt turn jap txt into english,it just allows you to play us games)

Yeah I've seen the mod for that before, that's why I'm getting a freeloader. Have you guys seen how complicated it is to do the dvd region mod?

The spots you have to solder to are so small. I have quite a bit of soldering experience and I had a hell of a time with it. Hardest thing I have ever worked on and would never do it again. See if National Console will do it. They only charge 50 buck for a standard cube mod, and believe me that is a steal. I wouldn't do it for under 200.
