I recently bought an extra Punisher board (untested) and after hours of testing and swapping parts over from my working board I've finally found the problem. At some point two of the PAL's on the B board have been swapped with incorrect ones. IOB1 (x2) is there but PS63B and BPRG1 are missing I could probable get a BPRG1 (From a SF2). But that still leaves me without a PS63B which seems to be exclusive to the Punisher board?. Anyway my main question is, is it possible to recreate PAL chips like with EPROM's or should I just give up all hope of getting a replacement?. :crying:

Thanks Ace.

As far as I know the PALs are protected and can't be copied...

That wont work, the programming of the SF PAL although in the same location will be different to the Punisher PAL :(

Some games in MAME do have the PAL/GAL code, but unfortunately, Punisher does not.

Just checked, and no, no PAL data for Gunbird. Do you have one you are trying to repair?

Yes, and Id like to get this bird off the ground (it has the PALs inserted, but I suspect they have been replaced with incorrect coded PALs before I got the board) Symptom= no boot up.
