I wandered into my local gamestation, and seen a small gameboy advance like object. the ngpc! i only recognised 1 game, fatal fury that i played in an arcade in america sometime ago. so i was eager to test it and persuaded my mum to get me it for christmas. My first experience with SNK was with Ikari Warriors in the arcade. I wasn't into that game that much though.

My first real respect for SNK came when P.O.W. came out followed by Iron Tank for NES, Mechanized Attack. Then NAM'75 happened on NEO, I learned I could own this game at home, and it was all over. :buttrock:

Walked into a m8's import game shop in '90 after some more jap megadrive games and he had just taken receipt of a jap AES with Nam '75.

Subsequently I had my own system about 8 months l8r.

just had to do it :buttrock:

The first SNK games that I really got into were Ikari Warriors and P.O.W., both of which I was really into at the time. For the Neo, the first game I really loved would probably be the original Samurai Shodown.

I think my first exposure to SNK was the machine where I first tried Magician Lord (SNK machine, not SNK game...) As for the games, it was probably P.O.W. or Crystalis for the NES. I also remember getting one of the Super NES Fatal Fury ports and thinking that Takara was behind it, knowing nothing about its connection to SNK yet.

Over in the UK I was in one of the first import game shops....Console Concepts (PC Engine Supplies) I was picking up a copy of DJ Boy on the Sega Mega drive......£95 at the time....had just been released.

I saw some guys playing what looked like a arcade game.....went over, and there she was....one of, if not the first Neo Geo console in the UK. The owner was playing NAM 1975. I think he only had one machine, and it was going for about £850.00 at the time. Needless to say I couldnt afford one, but was amazed by it at the time.

I remember the day well, because I also saw ThunderForce 2 running on a TV screen next to it on the fire type stage (the one were the whole background moves). I remember mistaking it for the Neo Geo at the time as it looked so good.

Ah...the good ole days.

I first heard SNK when I played KOF 95 on PS1. But, the first SNK game I played was Guerilla War on NES.

Baseball Stars for NES. That was the first time I have ever heard of SNK.

Then Ikari warriors...soon after the Art of Fighting, KOF and Metal slug series on the Arcades. A few months later I saw that flashy NEO GEO NEO GEO NEO GEO (seisures causing) commercial.

Thats when I really wanted one.

I had played Ikari Warriors, POW, ect as a kid but never made the SNK connection. The first Neo game I ever really played was either Fatal Fury or NAM 75..I cannot remember for sure..but the first one that really obsessed me was Art of Fighting. I remember being thrilled when it was ported to SNES lol.

I loved Ikari warriors on the NES, but at the time I paid no attention to the fact SNK made the game.

First Neo game I played was Magician Lord in the arcade, found out a local game store would rent out the AES. Rented it a few times since there was no way I could afford to buy one at the time.

Wasn't till about 9 months ago I actualy bought my first AES. Would have gotten one sooner but I never fully looked into it and had assumed they were still very costly. Got mine for $240 with 2 controllers and 3 games.

first SNK game i encountered was blues journey on a big screen tv at a place called Vidiots, they had all types of game consoles and a ton of games . you would pay an hourly fee to go in and play all the games you wanted in that hour, of course the "Neo Room" with the bean bag chairs and surround sound was seperated off from all the other systems, and you had to pay a higher fee to admire the awesomeness of the neo .
i was totally blown away by the bright colors and awesome looking characters and from then on had to have one.. 13 years later i finally got one, and its the best thing ive ever bought... took me long enough to get it tho (when i played blues journey, I was 3.. kid you not.)

I played P.O.W at the arcade like a mofo and when the first MVS cab came to my arcade, I recognized the SNK logo. I tried it and the rest is history.

Yeah dude! Kof 95 was the first game that made me an SNK fan. I first heard of them when I played Samurai Shodown 1 in the mall arcade. Right next to the street fighter machine. The zoom in effect was awesome. I played the game about 5 times with my girlfriend at the time. It was pure awesome.

Not much to say it started in the late 80's for me.

It started with these games.
(Ikari Warriors)
(P.O.W)
(Guerilla War)

Then when the NeoGeo came out, in the early 90's.

There was no looking back for me :buttrock:

My first brush was with P.O.W. but at the time all I thought was games where made by either SEGA, Nintendo, or Capcom( those where the only names that stuck out on the labes/screens ). P.O.W. totally blew me away since it was just a sweet game.

My first actual SNK game in which I knew it was them was Sengoku that was in an actual cab( I forget what the other three games where ) and I just fell in love with that game with it's entire style, that's the first game that I damn near beat on one quarter, I knew when I got my first cab that I'd make that my first game for it.

I possibly played or knew about pre Neo SNK stuff, but the first title I can remember playing was AOF1, back when it was first released. It kinda snowballed from there and I became a Neo addict, particularly after Samurai Shodown was released :)
