so, has anyone had an experience with buying any of their NOS stuff from ebay uk?

a new magician lord would be nice, maybe a super spy, but I'd like to hear from people here first, I hear nam75 has pen marks on it etc but thats no real biggie I'm sure some can be cleaned if you're wise enough.

I bet the trays are cracked inside, maybe, even if they are new and sealed..

anybody know?

Yeah,I bought a NOS,never been opened Blues Journey from them. The P&P was £8 and I was under the assumption that it would possibly have been sent in a box, bubblewrap and maybe foam chips to protect it and it would be sent special delivery(to send an AES game via special delivery wrapped as I have describe is only about £6.50 anyway)

It arrived about a week after I had paid for it,and it arrived via ordinary post(not even a signature required)with one layer of thin bubblewrap around it and then covered in brown paper.

The outer case itself wasn't damaged in any respect but the inner tray was smashed top and bottom.

Overall, quite disappointed with all aspects of its delivery(postage costs,no autograph needed and packaging)

I don't care if the game was only £25 for a NOS title,I could have bought a s/hand copy for the same price that would have been nr.mint and better packaged.Don't bother with them unless you are desperate for an item.

My experience was fine, I recently bought Ghost Pilots EURO from them for £17 + £7.50 postage, the postage was fast and the item cost around £6-6.50 to post so it was near enuff, my tray had no cracks and everything was nice inside.

I'd buy from them again for £17 I wasn't complaining..

Hope it helps, Olly

Don't believe any of their NOS Nam's had black marker censorship on the woman despite where Telegames got them.

Anyhow cracked trays are a problem everyone faces. The vast majority of the couple hundred vinyl-boxed NOS I have had were fine really, it's more the exception that you get a cracked or smashed tray. ...But if you pack anything poorly it can happen and the p&p isn't cheap. Flip a coin over it, it's as much of a gamble.

Well, I just bought Magician Lord off them from Ebay. I will tell you how I get on when it arrives.

As for NAM-1975, forgive me, but why would it be cencored? ...do they originate from a country with high cencorship laws? I have never seen the NAM-75 cover close up before.

Oh, and as im a new, what does NOS mean? :loco:

On the cover of Nam there is a lady on the front wearing a high-cut skirt and a white vest.Although its only a drawing she has some cleavage showing and apparently the stock originates from one of those middle eastern countries that frown upon such displays of wanton nudity on religious grounds so they were censored with black marker.

NOS = New Old Stock

Ah I see...interesting. I have seen this censorship alot within games...religous symbols etc.

Thanks for the info.

Well, I have bought from them (Neo CD and MVS kit games) although I do not remember if I bought an AES too or not, I think maybe a Ninja Combat. In any case their padding skills leave a lot to be desired, they are absolutely shoddy in that sense and their shipping charges are not very fair. One CD came with duct tape all over its case and many black marker writings and one of the kits I received was incomplete; at least if you are polite they are responsive, they immediately offered a replacement and that’s what I did; but definitely I would not buy from them again unless I would like something very badly or it would be a bargain. Seeing how they pad and how parcels are treated by PO workers it is very likely that you receive a broken tray from them.

Yeah, sounded too good to be true, but i am just getting back into Neo Geo again, and a claimed mint Brand new unopened / unused Neo Geo home entertainment cartridge of Magician Lord for £27.00 aint too bad depending on how it fares in the post.

We will see.

Telegames are a good company overall, but their P&P is their biggest downfall.
They have some great games and their prices(on ebay) are good, especially for NOS.
The P&P has always been very expensive and its only ever sent first class and not protected which does mean that the trays are always cracked.
The only way to get around this is to buy 3-4 games at once so they come in a bigger box and then they do put in styrofoam to help.

Overall, I must have bought around 100+ NOS neo titles from Telegames and Ive never really had a complaint with them.
What you will find is that they are not Neo Geo specific, so they dont understand how to package the games or why we care so much about the condition of a game.

They are a good company and I certainly would recommend you buy at least one title from them to see for yourself, I mean, you can buy a NOS super spy or Nam for a tenner, so how can let that go?

Got my game today. It came in a large carboard box, overall the packaging was very good.

The item itself was in near mint condition. The inner tray had a minor crack in it, but to be honest....no wonder, the plastic is so crappy anyway....no biggie.

Anyway, postage was VERY fast considering it was sent First Class. The bottom line is I will definately be buying more of these NOS items from them. Considering the price, I think its a great deal if you are after some of the older tiles.

i was going to buy one those Nam's of them, but the £8.50 P+P charge is taking the piss and they couldn't even be bothered to show a picture of the actual cart, so you can see how bad the black markings look.

blah.

Carts are heavy, its costs money to package stuff, and time to post it. Yeah £8.50 is alot, but in the grand scale of things, its cheap for a Neo game.

No it isn't!

You can give a cart a 3" thick coat of bubblewrap and then put in a box of foam chips and sent next day special delivery with £250 of free insurance for £7.

Telegames charges you £8.50 for a very thin layer of bubblewrap and a brown paper overcoat and its sent 1st class for £2.50.

they basically charge high postage to cover the cost of the game i suppose

but at the end of the day, the postage price is clearly stated

I bought a few, it just comes in a simple cardboard box, i never had any form of bubble wrap with mines, but the box is a tight fit

some came with a crack tray, some came mint

its just your luck really

if you want a truely ultra virgin mint cart, dont buy from them, buy from a reputable seller that describe the condition of the cart fully

if you only after a newish cart, i suppose telegames is alright

Those old style cases have shit plastic inside at the end of the day.

If you are told your item comes 100% new untouched; it should do.

If not (the plastic is shit) give negative, or deal with it.

I would rather pay £30 plus £7 postage for a s/hand nr mint game that will be sent via next day special delivery well wrapped in a box than £28.50 for a NOS game that is badly packed with a knackered case and is sent just by ordinary post with no way of tracking it and is just wrapped in brown paper.

Why are you defending Telegames selling/delivery practices anyway, with your ubern00b status I could even be pulled into believing that you are something to do with them!

Kern started this thread on the 27th of Dec and you joined on the 28th and jumped straight into this discussion, ergo you are part of Telegames-BUSTED! :mr_t:

I aint defending them, I just thought it was a pretty good deal for the game I got. I have nothing to do with Telegames, their feedback on Ebay seems pretty damn good considering the amount of things they have sold, I dont need to defend them.

My question was genuine, I am looking for good deals on near mint AES games within the UK. I have only just bought a AES again after owning one when it was first launched in Japan.
