The only problems I have with mine are with Rage of the Dragons and Matrimelee. Both games reset constantly. Other than that, it's a great board. It plays every other MVS game I have. Besides the MV-1, it's the only other 1 slot with joystick ports and stereo sound. There's a fix for ROTD in an old thread somewhere, some have had success with it, others haven't.

No more unreliable than any of the other single slots really. Being the first gen of MVS is probably not in its favour compared to the later smaller boards, also being a larger board makes it more suseptable to broken/cracked pcb traces.

Regarding maintainance keep the edge connect pins clean (and harness socket for that matter), the 5 volt pins get hot and can carbonise and cause intermittent problems.
Check the nicad battery, they leak and can cause serious corrosion probs on the pcb, if its the original battery replace it.

These are minor beefs, the fact this board has all the options outways anything else imho.

I've had this board in a cab for quite awhile now...I haven't had any problems with it in itself...it has a Puzzle Bobble boot in it..
It's a big board...
Mounting it permanetly in that cab due to the size of it doesn't become a bother...and that's a small cab..(I was surprised)
...........................

I did have to clean the Jamma harness once to get a better contact after the board sat for awhile unused...plus general connector cleaning.

I thought I had messed up the board once..Upon placing it in that small BAM conversion cab I must of bumped the mono to stereo switch.
To the point as where the volume was super low...Trying to find out what was wrong I noticed the switch wasn't fully pushed to one side...Whew..

I've had my MV-1F for nearly 2 years and aside from the reset issues on the games already mentioned in this thread, the board has been completely trouble-free and ultra reliable for me. I run my setup on a compact Supergun.
