I know this topic has been beaten to death, but I am about to buy this game and I wana make sure that I am getting the right one, I have an MVS system BTW.

How many different versions of this game exhist? I know there is this one.

What is the difference between this one and Zero? Does this one have the bugs and no fatalities? My MVS has a socketed version 2 Bios, will this cart have everything?

If someone could give a quick run down on SSV's short yet detailed history i would appreciate it.

Their is only two versions on MVS, SSV and SSVS. SSV only has random fatalities like 1-4 cutting in half, aerial spray etc. The AES had three versions SSV, SSVS unfixed, and SSVS fixed. Being a MVS gamer you do not have to worry about it being a fixed or unfixed version.

SSV MVS has no body cutting fatalities, just alot of blood and no story in English mode however if you change the bios to JPN, you will be able to play in story mode.
Special has generic and special fatalities that are pretty gorey and COOL!
You get all the blood spurting, body cuts, heart ripping, decaps, etc.
The gameplay is more challenging imo than SSV but they removed many original backgrounds and three cool characters from it, those being Poppy,Sankuro and Yumeji
SSV has a better overall presentation but if I had to choose between the two it would be SSV Special however that one is very expensive right now.
SSV is cheap enough to kick around with until you can get ahold of Special.
I feel SSV Special has a style/flavor similar to SS1 or 2

both are good and different in their own rights.
but then again i'm a samsho fanboy and needed to own both for completion. i like special slightly more than V, if you have to choose and can find special--get it!

That assessment pretty much sums it up.
I was never a huge fan of SS3 and SS4 and I had my doubts when I plunked down my $100 for the SSV kit last year. But, I was surprised as the game plays extremely well with tons of variety and a good assortment of characters.

Definitely get yourself SSV for the time being.

I hate to bring about another post thats prolly been covered before...but just to clear things up for me...

SSV has no form of generic fatalities at all? No aertiel spray..no cutting in half?

I know it doesn't have character specific fatalities..but I just wondered if it has the generic ones that were present in all the other SS games..? What about suicides?

Thanks in advance for any answers.
