I agree with the master JMKurtz.
Low serialled AES factory composite blows chunks, but higher serialled AES factory composite is improved a lot with brighter colour.
S-Video always trumps composite, in the clarity department, with waaaay less dot crawl and no weird rainbow moire patterns in fog effects, and other grid style patterns. It's the nature of the signal. composite always bleeds, and suiffers from moire artifacts, regardless of how good it is.
S-Vid mods do vary in quality, with an experienced modder like Jeff being able to tune the mod for the board, to make the best signal the board can generate, regardless of serial. I'm still sorting out the variables, for the various lo to hi serialled boards.
It's all about experience of the modder, and the attention paid to quality. I pay attention to quality, and get better with every mod.
