Do Taito G-Net cards have a set lifespan?

I know they're using PCMCIA cards as the medium but do they have a set lifespan? Aren't Neo Geo memory cards the same type of thing, and I know they have batteries inside that die. My question is do the G-Net cards have a battery inside or are they flash memory? manybe even something different. I'd appreciate any info on the subject anyone might have to offer.

That's a pretty cool set-up(went and did some reasearch)

I almost bought one of these Motherboards a few months ago,but no game was available with it,I didn't know anything about it at the time nor know where to get games for it..
But I do like the look of that..Super Puzzle Bobble...plus others..(I may have to look into this.)

AFAIK they are ROM's and are not battery backed.
