I'm getting a DS no matter what. My roomate has one and it rules. But I'm curious if there will be any Neo-Geo ports or new SNK games coming out on the DS? I haven't heard anything about this, but maybe some of you have, any info would be helpful.

Also, anyone hear when Metroid is coming out for the DS?

Castlevania?

Hehehe, A Ganbare Neo Poke-Kun wuld be pretty cool for the DS...

So would Picture Puzzle.

I personally don't know if they are working on any, nor have I seen anything in the workings by them, so I can't answer that question.

I'm not sure if this is an actual date, but on IGN, it says US: May 8, 2005 for Metroid, and for Castlevania, I can't find anything at the moment.

SNK Playmore is not part of the licensees for now.

They might become since the system is selling strong though.

For now, all you can do is play their GBA offerings. I think they have one title (a variation of Maximum Impact) that they were looking at releasing on PSP, and currently nothing scheduled for DS.

Metroid Hunters will release as a full game sometime in mid-2005 from what is said, and there is a Castlevania that is confirmed to be in production on the DS. Iga was quoted as saying that it would be in the style of Aria of Sorrow, but that is all that is known about the game. You can find a listing of announced DS software on Nintendo's homepage. They probably have one of the better listings, as they include all games offically announced regardless of media and info. Where as some listings won't put them up until they have a news article, screenshot, or release date pinned.

The PSP is a portable system that is very suitable for Fighting games.

The DS, well, ......buy a PSP.

It does not look like SNK has anything down the road for the DS... but it's comming out with KOF Max Impact for the PSP.

A MS3 port would be nice IMO as well :D

Haha, if that's how you feel.

I myself would rather have a good game with minimal loading times (Yes, Vampire Chronicle has less than 1/3 the loading time of Ridge Racer PSP), than some crappy DS GBA-ish King of Fighters EX crap with no loading.

You have that the wrong way round. RR has less than 1/3 of the loading of VC. I should know, I have both. I think the loading on VC is a product of rushing to be a release game. Given RR can load whole tracks into memory with minimal loading times, Im sure more can be done with games like VC in the future.

EDIT: I should add that VC plays amazing on the PSP. It really makes up for the loading times.

KOF EX 2 is actually really good and so is SFA3 (for gba games). From what I read Vampire Chronicles loading times are alot more noticeable then other psp games simply because its a fighting game. And people are used to having that instant loading. I read that mission/survival mode is really annoying to sit through.
I do think there will be more fighting games for the PSP then the DS simply because the genre has no need for a touch screen. But if any developer wants to come up with something new for fighting games (like inputting a super special death move on the touch pad or somthing) then they can.
