If I were to purchase an Atomiswave board, what would I need to do in order to get it to work with the Super Nova? Or, WILL it work with the Super Nova? If I'm using the Super Nova, could I still use the VGA output? Will all the buttons work without extra wiring?

Sorry for the stupid questions, just wanna make sure I have what I need to make sure all the buttons work and such.

Thanks!

It should work without problem, and of course you can still use the VGA output provided your monitor is compatible with it.

About buttons, it depends on how your supernova is wired. You'll have buttons 1,2,3 for sure. If your supernova accepts the MVS D button, then it will work as button 4 (if not do the equivalent to what I say next). It is possible that the 5th button (select for MVS) is not wired and you should wire it yourself (if it is wired to the kick harness, then run a wire from there to pin 26 of the JAMMA harness).

Great! Thanks for the info.

The SuperNova sees the MVS 'D' button, but alas, there is no select button wired, so I will need to wire one up. I only use the Super Nova for MVS and Hyper stuff, so the setup I have has worked fine. May add Atomiswave "support" for KOF and Battle Coliseum.

you could wire up a switch to go back and forth from pin 26 being game switch or button 5.

I don't really see why he would need a switch, unless he wants that 2 functions to be on different buttons depending on what board he is playing. Game switch on MVS and button 5 on Atomiswave are both in pin 26. Another thing could be if he also wanted to use boards that have button 5 in a kick harness, but still it would make no harm to have the same button connected to both places.

well, that's what I was thinking. game switch on the case, 5th button on the controller....

but you're right...the same button would be fine since the gs button doesn't work in-game, once a game on the 4 slot has been selected.

or, you could wire it up straight through so the 5th button is game select for mvs and 5th button for the atomiswave, and then use a switch to branch off the 4th, 5th, and 6th button to a cps2 kick harness....and give yourself another gaming option. Just a thought.
