Are you using a PCB from a Neo Geo Pad or stick, and if possible can you post a pick of the PCB. My soldering skills are not that great, but I know how to wire PCB's.

Check out also the forums at shoryuken.com there are people there who will wire up a PCB for you. As long as you provide the controller, it shouldn't cost that much.

You don't need any "PCB from a Neo Geo pad or stick", you just need a DB15 cable and follow this pin-out:

http://www.gamesx.com/controldata/neocont.htm

conn_dsub15f.gif

Code:
1	Common (GND)	10	NC
2	NC 11	Start
3	Select 12 C Button
4	D Button 13	A Button
5	B Button 14	Left
6	Right 15	Up
7	Down
8	+5v
9	D Button

Then it will work in your Neo Geo.

Do you have a pic (example) of this?

Edited: Does anyone have a pic of this type of Mod? Or a link. An actual picture not a diagram or layout.

A picture of what? Of the inside of a Neo stick? Or of a controller modded in this way to work in a Neo? I might do some pics tomorrow if you want.

Anyway, the Neo Geo does not have a pcb with an IC chip that codifies the data like regular consoles (that's why you need to sacrifice a controller for those consoles), there's one pin for each button/direction, you just wire them according to that diagram and it works.

OK, I just found a link of a great job by MKL to make the DC stick work in the neo:

OK, thanks I get it now! That controller converter is impressive.

Also where do I connect or solder the +5v wire in the Joystick?

Regular joysticks (including the Old Style stick) will work in the Neo Geo without using the +5V, just leave pin 8 empty. However, the NGCD pad and the New Style stick will not work properly without the +5V in pin 8.

So that stick works on both the Neo and DC.

Yes it would. With the black box plugged in it's a DC controller. Without the black box it's a Neo controller.

I wired mine myself, and I'm a complete noob to stuff like this.

I just went to radio shack and got some quick connects, so I didn't have to solder anything.

This was particularly useful when I realized that I had done everything backwards, so I didn't have to resolder anything.
