Just BIN'ed one on eBay. It's a Lynx 2, comes with a carry case and APB. Anyhow it's $38 shipped from Phoenix, I can't friggin wait.

Thanks for reminding me of how anxious I was to play one before, now I can play RoadBlasters on-the-go (once I buy it that is). Of course there's Klax and Qix and other games, too.

I just hope you got an AC adapter or stockpiled batteries, cause that thing is a battery MURDERER.

great arcade machine

I can't stress that enough, especially if you were like me in the 80s/90s and into atari arcade games

A Turbo Express is like 6 times what I was willing to pay for the Lynx.

Anyhow, what kind of AC adapter do I need for the Lynx? Are there any compatables (maybe the Gamegear since it's also 9V)? All the ones I see on the net are like $12, they gotta be cheaper than that, right?

Congrats DAN, wish I still had my LYNX... but I still have my copies of Ninja Gaiden and Blue Lightning. *Always thought it was a "Choice" portable, but sadly it just didn't get the attention it deserved at the time it came out... and IMHO was waaaaaaaaaaaay better than the Game Gear.

don't quote me, but I think it's a special kind

I remember going to radio shack and looking for one so I wouldn't have to pay the price for official one

The Lynx was a BRILLIANT system that was extremely overlooked by the mainstream. Definantly a Gamer's Portable. I had two break on me, but man did I love that system. It was really ahead of it's time when it came out....Enjoy.

Sucks. I guess I can put up a want ad here and ask for one at a fair price.

Or maybe one of you Lynx fanatics can help out an enthusiastic newbie and give me one (I'll pay for shipping!!) :)

Great portable... got the first version when it came out and a Lynx II. I loved xenophobe and ninja gaiden. Very underrated system. But yeah, get a Turbo Express too! :D

NS! And the 2nd ver. was even worse. But the backlighting is such a big bonus. Congrats on the steal-of-a-deal Dan.

I remember using a generic multi AC adaptor with my Lynx, one of those that has like 6 different connectors and you choose on (the Game Gear one won't work).
You can try it if you got one, or buy it: they are useful anyway.

In any case I've never considered the Lynx a portable system: too big and battery consuming. I would only play it at home with the AC adaptor. Useful if you don't have a TV available for regular consoles.

Last but not least: doesn't this thread belong in handhelds? :D

Awesome system. I just got my 4th one. A sealed mintier than mint Model 1 off ebay, even the box was hard to open and tight, like some sort of fresh Transformer. :drool_2:

what I bought

A little overpriced, but they are NOS from the first run. Even the Claifornia Games it comes with has the old cartridge back.
