I've never played KOF '03 because arcades in MN suck and there are3 very few Neo cabs at all, let alone any that play newer games (KOF '03, SSVS, SVC...) So, I'm wondering is KOF '03 any good? I've noticed the price has been going down to a more reasonable price. I currently own 94, 96, 97, and 2000. So would I be happy with KOF '03 or would I be better off getting KOF '01 or '02 (I've never played them either) or maybe SVC chaos, or something. Any help would be appreciated 'cus I think it sucks to throw $65+ at a game I've never played only to find out it sucks. (not the case w/ KOF 2000, MOTW, both I played for the 1st time after I bought them. Was the case with Shock Troopers 2, I wish I bought the 1st one instead)

get 2k2 instead unless you like duo lon and goro

I'm one of the few people that likes 2K3 - the PS2 version is nice and so is the JAMMA PCB/MVS version

I personally like both quite a bit. And now that 2003 can be had for a very reasonable price (79.99 USD for a new, complete, kit from Yao), the price doesn't have to be the deciding factor.

2003 plays faster and has tagging. It's a little more hyper-kinetic, IMO.

2002 is a little more strategic and looks a little better, overall. Kind of a toss-up, but I'd probably say go with '02 unless you find a real good deal on '03. Both well-worth buying, though.

Alternatively, you could get KOF98 and be happy for the rest of your life. Damn that's a good game.

I think '01-'03 are all definitely worth having. I definitely plan on getting '01 and '03 at some point, because they are both fun and unique, but I already have '02 -- because I consider it the #1 must-have of the entire KOF series.

'01 is a crazy game; the way you use the strikers and wire damage, etc., make the game different than any of the others. Even different than the other striker KOFs. I definitley consider '01 as better playing than 2000, and MUCH better than '99.

'02 I feel plays the best, and has far and away the best roster of the series (although I wish King were in there). Classic 3-on-3 fighting.

'03 has the new tagging system, and is definitely the most pleasing of the three as far as graphics and music go. Some new cool characters, but it loses many more cool characters that were in '02.

I've played a lot less '03 so far than the other two, but I like them all.

Yeah, '02 is a really good time as well. It feels really comfortable for those who have been used to earlier iterations of the series. I honestly haven't spent enough time with 03 to be able to form a valid opinion on it, but 98, 02, and 2000 are my favorites of the series, personally.

I think the tagging and the speed of the game make it a nice/fun change of pace. Its the only KOF I've been playing lately. Alternated with 96 every now and then for some odd reason. I like the BG's.
