I talked to a guy at EB and he said he read somewhere that the PSP launch might be pushed up as early as Jan?

Can anyone confirm on deny the rumor?

if they stop PSTwo production and raise their orders to 3rd party components manufacturers they could... the PST factories are the same as the PSP (hence the shortage of both)

Don't trust those EB fucks... wait for solid info....

I trust those flapping jaws at those stores as much as I'd trust a fucking dirty hooker giving me stock tips.

Please remember that when a company gives info to stores, it gets leaked onto the net in two seconds. They aren't telling your local EB anything we don't know.

I don't see why it won't be possible to launch the PSP before the march 05 estimates... Sony probably will try to keep Nintendo on their toes... so an early than expected launch would be good.

I see middle February being highly possible.

Since no one answered me in the other thread, I know that the PSP's interface can be turned to an English setting, but does this make the games play in english as well?

Is it truly region free, so i can play US games in a JP vers. or can I play JP games in a US vers PSP?

You failed to read the small print....This auction is not for an actual PSP system. This auction is for an informational document which contains ordering information for a PSP system By bidding on this auction you agree that you have read and understand the terms of this auction.no refunds.

LOL and you would have been stuck paying that too had you bought it....LMAO!!

With the exception of the Saturn, no one launches early because it pisses off the retailers and people saving their $$'s. It would be a strategic blunder to rush out a system with inadequate stock BEFORE anyone expects it.

This would only mean that by the time it was expected, there would be ZERO mania for it at all.

And we all know how sony likes to get everyone's panties in a wad for a new system release... :kekeke:

" US PSP to Launch Early?
Posted By Scott on December 17, 2004

Reports are coming in from analysts that the US launch of the PSP may be moved ahead to January. Analysts suspect that the move will be spurred with intent to diminish some of Nintendo's momentum and meet Sony's fiscal (March 31, 2005) objectives of at least 3 million PSP's shipped.

An analyst from Standard and Poor's, John Yang further stated that despite a later start and manufacturing issues, Sony will win the hand held battle in the long-term because of the PlayStation brand recognition. "

I wan't my PSP ASAP, I got my pre-order payed for and everything. :buttrock:

If there is any truth to this it must be sony wanting to cash in on what the importers are making. It seems that westerners are more eager than previously thought.

For me a January launch would suck the ass. I'm just getting ready to get my ds... It might be considered if I could make a quick buck on ebay. :D

I don't really see how they can make them fast enough. They are already selling everything they can make, so how can opening a new territory help?

The release dates for what have been the Japanese launch games don't look too promising on GameStop.com- May 1st. Those could get changed, of course.

And in all truth, I would rather see Sony wait a couple months longer to launch in North America if it means more units on shelves and less chance of epic shortages.
