Turbo Express Unbalanced Lighting?

I just bought a Turbo Express off of eBay recently and I've noticed that there's a lighting imblanace where the left side of the screen is brighter than the right (causing the colors to be slightly washed out based on contrast).

Is this normal? Is the lighting only coming from one side?

To some degree, all backlit portables had uneven lighting to some degree, so I'd say its normal.
