Oh yeah, and everyone vote Gargoyle's Quest! You know you want that sequel to Demon's Crest (like that would ever happen..)

In all honesty, it doesn't really matter if you choose any of those Fighting Games.

At the most, they're going to be straight Ports.

Capcom is no longer making new Fighting Games, and even if they would remit their statement, most of the big names who worked on all the previous Fighting games have left the company (like Funamizu)

Naturally.
Capcom would be really stupid to release a brand new fighting game on a handheld system. While it'd be fun to play wireless with a friend, it would be certain to be a port, like Dark Andy says.

A vote for Mega Man X or Zero or Daimakaimura would be much more likely to go into a new game.
..Let's hope the Japanese vote good.

Both those games would make me justify the inflated asking price of a PSP this Christmas. We were already blessed with Vampire Chronicle, but I just can't afford over $400 this Christmas with all the giving and such ;) . By the way, PinkPeach, you have very good tastes. I'll be keeping my eye on you.

No Warzard?

its too niche, and frankly, Capcom have made way too many good games to count, this is just a popularity contest. I think the game is incredible though :(

I'd buy a Resident Evil game for the PSP. It wouldn't be all that scary, but it could be cool. Maybe Capcom could evolve RE like they are for RE4 on consoles, but make more traditional games on the PSP.

I don't know... Maybe if you are lying in your bed in the complete dark and have the headphones in, the game might still give off that creepy feeling.

That sort of defeats the purpose of having a handheld though :)

(and don't tell me you don't have a TV near your bed!)

As far as the idea that horror games on a handheld wouldn't do well goes, we have to keep in mind- some people are VERY STUPID. We can't judge things based on that fact that most of us would be turned off by it, there's got to be more than enough idiot parents buying for their kids or kids just turned into the whole gaming scene that the sheer novelty of a "Scary Game!" would be just too much to pass up- if atleast for the bragging rights to say "I have that game and you know how they say it's scary? It's not that scary!"

Also, it's not too farfetched to imagine starting a new fighting series (or at least a new sequal to an established series) specifically on a handheld- we've all seen the tons and tons of "non-gamer" types whisking out their GBAs at the oddest times, even if only too seem cool by doing so. Just like with the horror games idea, the novelty alone is enough to bring in a market of those desperate to prove their ability of being able to have a "crazy new game" way before anyone else they know- especially from "that company that made that Street Fighter game!" (as witnessed among kids not that well-versed in the gaming community)..

Remember, novelty is a huge selling point. Think about all those versions of the same old football game, or movie rip off- people buy them for the NOVELTY of playing [insert favorite football team] as if they were actually on the team, or the NOVELTY of being able to pretend they were James Bond in a way that wouldn't make their friends get freaked. If it turns out that novelty lust is transferrable to handhelds (and if it isn't, that would definitely be a first for novelty whores!), there is a whole fortune to be made on crap games and stupid gimmicks.

"Street Fighter? Isn't that some poor old game?"
People nowadays are all about Tekken. It invented the genre and you know it.

I'm quite sorry- Everyone, please re-insert "Tekken" for "Street-Fighter" immediately. Or else my point will be lost- and, in a few moments when the market resets once again, I will be sure to post an update on the new game to insert in the brackets.

Really, you know what I meant- there's no point in contributing if the argument is purely semantics :D

Yeah, except Tekken isn't by Capcom. I'm sorry, I don't know what you meant. :crying:

Among the mainstream audience, Capcom just doesn't have the same fame they had during the 8 and 16 bit generations. Street Fighter III isn't an old game, but it's not mainstream like II used to be. Nowadays, Capcom is famous for games like Resident Evil and Devil May Cry, so kids won't be crazy about a fighter from the company that made Street Fighter. A fighter from Namco with Tekken references would probably sell a lot better, no matter how poor it is.

Once again, I'm so sorry. If it makes you feel any better, I now bestow on you the exclusive permission to fill in the blanks anyway you'd like! ;) Maybe I over-estimated the importance of SF II to today's generation, but, as you say yourself, Capcom still has a foothold in the industry so my point remains intact. :)

Don't worry, mistakes were made on both sides. But together, we WILL break free! :D

Fighters on Handheld = :kekeke:

Handheld= platform, RPG and tactics games (shooters are accepted).

My choice: Ghouls and ghost, rockman and KNIGHTS OF THE ROUND TABLE (I have a dream...)
