Down Function does not work

I was adding new carts to my 4 slot and now the down function on the left, player one joystick does not work. I unplugged and reconnected everyting and looked for loose wires but everything looks like its connected. Anydbody have any ideas why my down function on my player one stick does not work? It works perfectly on player two.

The switch may be stuck..or bad..Try another switch if you can..




Check the jamma harness..it may have came off a bit(cab off)

A ground wire going to that switch may have came off...Sometimes there is one ground wire that circles the joystick..it may have came off and is hard to see.
Trace all the grounds going to these switches.

Go into the hardware test and see if that switch is responding.

It may also be a dirty or faulty pin in the jamma harness...for that switch.
You may have to clean the edge connector too.

check all the wiring..
I think something may have came off..maybe split..
Check where the sticks plug in if there is a plug..
