Is the SS IV Korean version "edited", and if so, how?

Just curious...

Korea

I had one and it was exactly the same as my jpn copy, no edits every thing was there...
On the other hand I have heard other people say things were missing, fatalities, voices etc.....

It's the sterile version of the game.
White blood,Voices Missing (Japaneses comments after battle removed),The text bubbles have been changed with different dialogue and no fatalities.

Seriously? So the game itself (ROMS?) is edited. much like SS V Special?

I would never do something like that, not even on the korean version of a game.

Poory Poppy. :crying:

Galford, on the other hand, is one heartless bastard. :shame:

Well, better to be in the warm stomach of a friend, then in the cold ground. Now, pass me some Poppy.

Also, in the Korean language setting in Samurai Showdown 3 AES the game title becomes... Fighting Swords! Woooooooo.

My Korean SSIV is garbage, everything you guys mentioned,

No Japanese Voices, my sprites are badly garbled for about 25% of the chara, and mine has no intro.

you can have it fixed by buying one SSIV mvs cart and have someone to replace the korean roms with the real ones.

Any idea how a Korean cart looks? Just for my info because I might be lured into buying one by mistake.

I don't own a korean ssIV, BUt I found a trick to see what it would look like. If you Pop in a cart of samsho 3 and Switch the language to korean you get a good idea. when you get back to the title screen the game becomes "fighter's swords". All of the prefight voices are cut. Characters names are changed (Gaira becomes Kim something). No blood, fatalities, etc.

homecart? It looks like a US cart, with the red stripe, just it plays diffrently...

The box insert, cart sticker and manual are identical to the US English version - but on the back of the cartrige it says "made in korea."

The game is worth little compared to the original US and Japanese versions, and was going for under $150 for a while. But if you end up with on, you can buy a MVS SSIV and use the chips from that to replace them with the crapped out ones in the Korean cart. I think according to Jeff Kurtz, it was the S and P chips.

The Korean version not only says "Made in Korea" (as someone else previously stated), but the plastic shell has a different/rougher texture. Instead of the shell being shiny black, it's a dull gray. It's quite obvious when seen in person. It'll definitely stand out amongst the US/JPN counterpart.
