I have no clue why, its like an addiction to me.

Same goes if the DS was released in Japan first.

I'll wait till the price hits maybe $450 with a game.

Yeah, I'm a fucktard.

You sir are better than "As the World Turns", "The Young and the Restless", and "All my Children" combined.

I love me.

I probably won't buy it, but I can, you know?

Its like, "should I?"

Then the price hits the $300's

Dunno, its fucked up.

I have one PAID OFF in the U.S. but I'd buy a JPN one...

Ah, maybe I just convinced myself not to.

Who knows?

True enough.

But I wouldn't mind a TonK "On Hand" PSP Preview.

Would I do it? Hellno. At least wait a month when the import price is probably normal again..

But hey, that's me.

No you're not, you are just like everyother modern red blooded human......impatient and must have now! However based off your other posts, I would have taken you to be more in favor of Nintendo. Why the change or have I just misunderstood your posts.

I've always admired the release of new hardware.

I imported a GC, PS2, GBA, N64, DC, ECT...

I really want to try the PSP out beforehand.

I never had a console go bad on me so I'm hoping for a perfect track record.

The PSP looks great, its the fact that I have to wait for it...

I have the money, I work my ass off and I deserve a treat.

But I will more than likely NOT buy it, but you know how close you come to using "Buy it Now" sometimes?

I'm the same guy that had 12 Slug 1's pass through his hands...

Its a sickness.

Prices are going to dropping faster than a rock I'd say wait until the day after christmas and then order. With the combination of the next big shipment heading from Sony is due the 22nd and the fact that so many cancelled pre-orders leaves a ton of oversold units and in a few days we'll see the price jacking cartel crack if not collapse outright in 8 days.

Please tell me you have the restraint to last that long lol.

Well, I'd buy every single system in it's release date if I had the money, so I guess that's just pretty normal in gamers :tickled:

...that makes me think I have never been able to buy a single one in it's release days :eek_2:

I completely agree, I too work my arse off. 6 days a week roughly 80+hours, plus I am a volunteer Big Brother and that takes my one and only day off when I hang out with my little bro (been shy of 6years since we have been together). So in my eyes I too deserve a treat. Cool thing is that one of my jobs I have to actually do things to keep myself awake. Cant get into details but it has me protecting an area at all costs, and you sorta have to entertain yourself otherwise you'll go nuts in boredom.
But like I said you do have to treat yourself, hell why not... nobody else has ever done that for me right? And those darn "buy it nows" on ebay get me all the time. It is a sickness and I should prolly seek help for it. Whats that number to Dr. PSP again? LOL

but your talking about purchasing a system for over 4 times its normal asking price because there is a limited shortage for a couple weeks. Honestly, wait 2 weeks and I'm almost certain you can get any game you want with the system for $300.00 or less shipped

Dont even buy it if the price falls. If the thing breaks or has a defect your screwed. Just wait for the US release. There is only 5 or 6 games for the thing anyways.

Well so did I :smirk: (well it was a birthday present but still). But its a safe bet that something good will come out for it if you like Nintendo games.

its just things reaching feverpitch. the thing is overexposed and its driving people to need a hit as quick as they can. this price thing is a complete scam. its totally unreasonable and someone somewhere is milking it like they do when new systems are released.
I understand you completly though, as when the super famicom was first released I needed one right there and then, so a friend of mine who travelled to the orient on business all the time went and got me one (from Hong Kong - he had to go to the factory or suppliers, because all the shops had sold out), so mine was amongst the first systems released (I then had to get a semi functioning japanese television from a friend's friend at hitachi because you didn't have ntsc so easilly back then in the UK  ) - and I'm not trying to affect your decision but I must admit that I was over the moon. it was a great experience.
Handhelds are kind of not my cup of tea though so this doesn't apply here.
I'll bet nintendo divulge their plans on the followup to the GBA within the next 6 months, so I'll just see how it all goes down.

the thing that kicks ass about a system launch is a memorable launch title. super mario world was one of the best games ever, as was mario 64, even sonic adventure. these are games that are some of the best on the system, and last you for the inital drought of new software, and you come back to them. there isn't anything on the psp even remotely comparable, or the ds really except mario 64 which was more than worth it to play through again.

Err... sonic adventure was not a launch title ... it came much later (talking about the japanese system), the DC launch killer app was Virtua Fighter 3 (loved this one, especialy the bonus disk presenting shenmue, pure showcase of MPEG Sofdec) :)

Anyway, to each his opinion... but for me the PSP killer app is Ridge Racers.

It s not allways a platformer (watch out decepticons are attacking ! ... sorry it s late) :)

If the import price gets back down to normal I will probably import one. I just can't believe it will make it over here when they say, on time with a happy ending. If it keeps getting delayed I'd end up snapping. Safer for me, and the register biscuits at EBgames for me to import. MUCH SAFER.

My local import shop here is selling the regular edition w/ one game for $499. Value Pack is $550 w/ a game.

I talked with the owner and he said prices will go down probably after the holiday season. I might snag one if it's well in the range of what I originally was going to pay for.
