Too excited for words :multi_co: Had immediately taken off during lunch break to play Samurai Shodown 1, then Samurai Shodown 2, and hurried back to work after 2 bouts each.

Next challenge: KOF'96!

Mine arrived today, but I was at my girlfriend's house, so I missed the drop-off! Now I have to wait till after 6:30 to go pick it up from the station... but damn, I'm so excited. I seriously can't wait.

I just got my Neo! Wow, I'm excited... the postal service sucks, so I had to wait, but god I'm excited. I also forgot how bad I am at Fatal Fury 2, and was QUICKLY reminded.

I have a question, though... my Samurai Spirits cart sometimes gives me troubles in that it won't display some sprites properly, or it will display fine but have no sound. Is my cart bummed? I thought it was the Neo at first, but AOF2 and FF2 both work fine, so, yeah...

Try cleaning the cart, that might help. Just use a Q-tip and wipe the gold connectors ( I have no tech speech skills ). You'd be amazed how dirty those can get. Some people recommend electronic cleaner on the the Q-tip, but I just do it with a dry one.

Congrads to both of you on your purchase.

Thanks, that worked like a charm. I've spent my whole night with the Neo, and I have a couple of things to say.

First off, when I opened the box, I was just floored. I couldn't believe that I was finally in posession of an AES. Moreover, I couldn't believe that a tangible object could awake so many good memories of time spent at the arcade. When I got home and plugged it in... wow.

First, I played Fatal Fury 2. I played this game to death in the arcade, and I had nothing but good memories of it. All those memories came floating back as soon as I saw the intro. But, something that hit hard was when I found out that I wasn't good at the game anymore. I've been playing a lot of this one tonight.

Next was Art of Fighting 2. I remember playing this on the MVS as well, however, I never spent as much time with it. I decided to give it some more time now that it was free to play, and I'm glad I did, because I like the game quite a bit. It is really damn hard, though, and often as I was playing it, I wished I was playing FF2. But, I decided to go on to my next game.

I popped in Samurai Spirits, and I wasn't looking forward to it very much, to be honest. In the arcades, I never really got into SS... it was quite different from the other fighters out there, and I really sucked at it, so I wasn't really drawn to the series. However, I decided to give it a go... my dear god. Why I was spending my money on FF2 back in the day and not this game, I'm not sure, but now it's all that I'm playing. It was very innovative at the time, and remains to be very, very solid. I can't express how much fun I've been having playing this game. I can't till I can pay off my Visa so I can order a copy of SS2...

All in all, it's been a wonderful evening, and I couldn't be happier. I got hired at my local EBGames as well, which isn't too bad either, given my current job (internet tech support for Comcast) is complete garbage. I'm really looking forward to building my AES collection over the coming years... it's everything that I had hoped it would be.

I loved my first night of AES glory :)

Got it a week or so back, cam home from work and was in the same ore of the console as you, I couldn't believe I owned one finally.

Spent ages opening it and seeing how minty it was, then opened kof '97 and smelt the glory :p mmm

I was going to keep it boxed up and play it when I wanted but set it up full time and boxed up my saturn and MD so it can be on full display when I wake up and look over in the morning :glee:

Pure Greatness.

One day young grasshoppers you all shall gaze upon a glorious collection of minty AES carts on your shelf. And if the Gods see fit to it, the collection will be crowned with Metal Slug 1. And in this moment of reflection you'll think " I could have bought a new fucking car for what's sitting on that shelf "

Haha, yeah, with college tuition being what it is, I don't think this will happen for a while for me, unfortunately.

Congrats!

I too finally got a peice of the Neo-Geo pie, when my Neo-Geo CD arrived 2 days ago. I played the thing all day, non stop.

For years I had to settle for ports on the Genesis, SNES, PSX, Saturn, and Dreamcast. Now I have the genuine article, and I couldn't be happier.

Cool. I remember having my first Neo, like a madman I removed the AV Jacks of my Saturn then just to give way to this one awesome piece of hardware. Real Bout Special was the only game I wanted to play in the world. Then just like all my other console "fever" it died down until MOTW came. It's still is an on and off thing for me but I am glad to ba part of it.

Have fun :buttrock:
