I ordered this game over KOF 99. A lot of gamers tell me it's the best KOF out there. Am I expecting to much? BTW, I already have 2000,2001,2002(Just last week) and 2003.Thanks.

You wont be dissapointed. You gotta be into competitive play to enjoy 98 and any other kof, so you are in good standing.
No KOF gives better match vids then 98. It beats all other kof's gameplay and roster wise.
Even though the boss team isnt present, the over all roster is so fucking good, it won't matter.

Make sure you follow the KOF 98 guidelines.
Take a day off work and dedicate it to 98 solely.

Get 1 x bucket of beef jerky at smart n final.
Bottle of mountain dew and some sunflower seeds.

Hop on over to kof cyberfanatics, register your gamespy account and download the KOF 98 vids.

'98 is great, but I miss K'. :)

I agree, K' is missed, however, god KOF98 is fun. Honestly, I haven't had so much fun matching up against someone else in a fighting game as I have had with 98. It's remarkable... once the Christmas bills are paid off, I'm going to order the AES version in a second.

Thank's everybody

I have been playing this cart since it arrived and I was just wondering how I missed this one back in 98? Maybe I was caught up with my Japanese Dreamcast way back November 98 and drooling at then incomming Marvel vs Capcom.

Great game and it's now one of my favs maybe a close tie with MOTW but edges out when played with my buddies. :buttrock:

Btw, I use Terry, Robert and Joe ;)

I'm a little surprised by this thread. When I joigned the board, posting a thread like this would have been flame material since it was so obvious that KOF 98 was a greatest game ever made. Time had changed.

2000 is my favorite, with 98 a very close 2nd. Although I can see how 98' would be the best for hardcore tournaments. 2k0's overload of strikers is hated by most, loved by me. I'm also very fond of Vanessa and Lin.

98', I'd pick, Ralf, Clark, Goro, sp Ryo, Billy. The greatest KOF is 98'.

'99 is the only AES KOF game I've got... dunno if it's really worth getting the others :tickled:

KOF '98 is an overhyped piece of garbage.

My dog leaves more interesting things in tight coils, steaming, in my back yard.
