No offense to anyone "selling off my entire collection because of (insert problem here)" But I think if I did need the money (and not use it as an excuse to sell my games) I would get a part time job first to supplement my full time one, or 2 part time jobs if I did not have a full time one (if I needed money that bad). I get too much joy from my mvs, aes, cd that having the games would make my dreary life in this case somewhat better. If you needed the money really bad would selling off your neo games be high on your list?

Depends how fast you need the cash.

If I was broke and my daughter needed medication I would sell my kidney.

If I needed to make car payments, yeah I see your point.

I've told this story way too many times, but here it is again once more.
Back in 2001, my wife had surgery complications and needed medical attention not covered under our insurance plan. The medical expenses totalled almost $25000. So the first things to go were my US NTM, Slugs, and Ninja Masters, followed by the rest of my home carts. My family is way more important to me than video games. Games can be replaced at a later time, people can't.

I agree with you both from a medical stand point 100% but how about non medical related?

I'm too fickle

I'll play the hell out of the Neo for a few weeks, then take a few weeks off, then see something that I want but don't have money for and sell my collection, then buy said thing, get sick of it, save up some money, and re-buy some of the stuff I sold, then play the hell out of it for a few weeks, then take a few weeks off, then see something that I want but don't have money for and sell my collection, then buy said thing, get sick of it, save up some money, and re-buy some of the stuff I sold, then play the hell out of it for a few weeks, get sick of it and . . .

you get the point

If I were not dedicated enough to keep it, I suppose I would. So far that has never been the case.

Just curious, exactly how much are your guys' collections actually worth? Are we talking hundreds? Thousands? Tens of thousands( )

If I still had a collection, I'd sell it just to have one huge night of drinking, partying, and fucking.

I sold off most of my collection to fund the purchase of a new truck and to keep myself drowned in alcohol.

(Keep an eye out for a nice, modded Japanese home system in the Selling Forum, since drinking nothing but imported brews gets expensive.)

BTW - Shrink your sig pic.

Family is definitely more important than some stupid games. You know, unless you are talking about Riding Hero. I'd kill my own mother with a rusty spoon before I'd completely rid my life of this 46 meg paradise.

HELL NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

seiously, I didn't buy this stuff as an investment, bought them to play. If they were just sitting on a shelf collecting dust, then they would have been sold long ago. But who knows, never say never I guess. Having two part-time jobs helps to pay for this stuff plus other expenses though :emb: . So, If I really, really, REALLY needed money, I wouldn't have to start listing this stuff in the selling forums.

Not too much. I've been patient and have been able to find GREAT deals on "rare" stuff. plus I buy japanese carts, so right there, that's quite a few dollars off.....

If I needed money for anything (and I stress NEED, ie. tuition, rent, anything like that) yeah, it would be pretty easy to part with.

Even if I didnt need the money selling it all wouldnt be hard and I wouldnt miss it that much. Same goes just about anything I own really though.
