Why is Japan so hard on Mr.Driller

I get to about 300 M and get squished or run out of air.Any of you guys have any techniques? If Japan is only 500 M and its this hard,I cant imagine Egypt,with the 1000 M depth. Any help is appreciated

Tonk's right. The secret is items. I'd suggest playing the pressure mode and trying to not kill the boss very quickly. You can earn at least 1000miles at a time this way.
