Ebay is littered with converted homecarts now. You can't find a legit rare cart for sale there. It's all conversions! What a fucking nightmare.

Funny you mention that. Earlier today I found some dude on eBay selling 3 conversion together for $400. MS1 , MS2, and Blazing Star ( might have been Pulstar, but I'm pretty sure it was Blazing Star)

totally agree, was on ebay this morning and there was just conversion after conversion, and everyone saying the usual "top quality" "100% professional job done" - yeah right, if you want a professional job, buy the real thing

I wonder which AES carts are getting sacked

I hope it's not KOF 95

I never understood what's the problem with not wanting to pay $1000+ for a game and still wanting to play at it...

There is Phantom-1 if you want to do that.

Saccing carts is against biblical scripture.

Too bad carts still need to be sacced to make a Phantom 1.

I'm O.K. with conversions as long as they are done right. If I see another slug cart in an old style case I gonna loose it. These wannabe techs don't know what the hell they are doing.

My bad, what I meant was, the biblical scripture speaks out against saccing more than one cart for the use of a Phantom-1 per individual/per household/per address.

I always wonder that too. And then I wonder why the hell I'm always so broke and can't afford to buy a Phantom-1.

BTW, is there a definitive FAQ on the Phatom-1? I hear lots of different stuff about versions, compatability, etc, but I'm just wondering if there's a thread of txt somewhere... any info would be appreciated.

Remember also that many sellers don't want to deal with eBay anymore, Neo scene is a closely tied group, many sales and ads are done with words of mouth, or in this site, why would I want to put it on eBay when I know the potential handful of customers.

Surely if all you want to do is play the game, all should be ok right? Conversion is still original firmware, just not original packaging (cart case etc). It is debatable how much $$$ a conversion should get, but then again, ROM software on 8bit Amstrad computers gets a good price, but they were always sold as just 'roms', to plug into a sideways ROM board. You could argue that someone could just sell the ROM chips from an MVS game instead right, or just sell the MVS game and a crappy AES game and let someone themselves change the games around (probably not so easy, but still possible). I see it as 'what's the problem' if they are not being sold as non-conversions. Still better than selling pirated software.

Ebay is a haven for scammers and pirates.

IF your sacraficing aes carts, it's not to hard to just burn the roms rather than remove them from the MVS cart. I wouldn't be suprised if many of these shady sellers are doing this already.

If your looking for high end stuff, your better off dealing person to person than on ebay. Check with Sean, Ryan Smith or someone here.

absolutely! ;)
i am very thankful for conversions being out there. :D
it gives us neo aes owners a way to play certain games that were only released
on mvs!! :tickled:

I was looking for specific carts and I kept running into conversions after conversions, it's been a while now. I don't think it's too bad, it'll cost about the same as a Phantom 1 converter and the MVS cart. Of course converter would let you redo this deed, but some people don't simply like how it looks.

I'd be bothered if they were selling them as legit.

Just curious here...do conversions work exactly as they should, or do they give any problems at all? I've never had any experience with a conversion, but I don't think it would be too bad to buy one of games that are $2000+ usualy as long as the buyer knows what he/she is getting and not being tricked into thinking its the real AES cart..that I would have a problem with. Also MVS games that were never released on the AES are a good reason I can understand why people would want conversions. Of course there is the Phantom 1...of which I have no experience with either.

If a game wasn't released on AES then there is at least some point in picking up a conversion, stuff like Shock Troopers. It's vaguely more "legit" then playing a rom.

But for games that were released it seems like a really stupid move to pay alot for a conversion. Why not just play the rom until you have enough cash for the real thing.

People ought to vote with their wallets and not bid on this shit.
