What was the 1st game you ever played on Neo-geo ? What time was this ?

1st time I ever played at an arcade when I lived in Jamaica was back in ~1991... this was also the same time I got to play World Heros on a Neo-geo cab.

When I was a kid, every saturday morning I would head out to the convenience store and play samurai shodown. That was the game that really got me into videogames.

The first Neo game I really remember playing in the arcade was Samurai Shodown. The first game I played on my AES was Fatal Fury 2.

Art of Fighting, in a mini-arcade in t3h truck stop. Also, I ate approximately 40 slices of bacon from the breakfast buffet that morning (~3 a.m.), and then my mom called me the next morning to tell me that I had to play in a tennis tournament the next morning at 9 o'clock. I got pwn3d. :crying: :oh_no:

Can't remember for sure... just know it was either an early FF game, FF:Special I think, or WH. I just can't remember which I played first of the two...

First game I ever played for the NEO was NAM-1975 in the summer of 1990. The 4-slot cab also had Magician Lord, Super Spy, and League Bowling.

The first game I played was Baseball Stars 2 on a mini 2-slot. Played it whenever I was at showbiz/chucky cheese.

I always ignored the Neo-Geo because I felt that the graphics were clunky, IE: Fatal Fury and Art of Fighting 1. It was Samurai Shodown and World Heroes at a small buger joint right by my high school, that sparked some interest in the MVS. For about a good three months, a bunch of guys, during lunch, held a tournment that always seems to spill over to the next day. Later my Freshman year the two slot was upgraded to Samurai Shodown II and World Heroes 2. Then I did not touch a MVS cab intill I "discovered" Metal Slug and the then new Metal Slug 3 @ a local arcade, like 5 years later. Happy Days.

It was BAM for me, at a roller-rink. I dropped all the money my mom gave me for lunch (it was a school year-end field trip) on that machine ($5 - 20 plays). Damn that was fun. Then, the following weekend, I went searching out Neo machines in the city... I headed down to Games on the Avenue, the biggest arcade in the city, and played a LOT of Fatal Fury 2. I just remember the characters looking so big. It was magical, I'll tell you that much.

My AES arrives in the next couple of days, and the first game I'm going to play for that will be Fatal Fury 2. As corny as it sounds, a childhood dream will actually be coming true.

For some reason I can't remember where and when...

It was at an Arcade I went to either down the shores of N.J. or something that's closed up closer to me.(when I was younger)

I know it was a 4 slot (like mine)..I remember when I saw it though still to this day,.....
I walked around a few machines and it was right in the center of the floor with 2 or 3 other type Arcade machines at it's sides.

I remember saying to myself..Whoa!!!Check this out, this is a Neo Geo..I had never seen this Machine before and I was in Awe...

I just stood there watching the 4 games cycle through the demos..I stared reading the Mini Marquees each lit behind the cabs steel over head door thinking,"man that's so cool I have to get me one of these some day,So unique"..

The first game I saw running in this cab was Baseball Stars 2...
It also had either Fatal Fury or Art of Fighting,Samurai Shodown and Metal Slug.
I played Baseball Stars 2 first, then the other games...I sucked at all of them.....But I was instantly hooked.

Years later I would run into a just brought in 4 slot in an Arcade located not far from my house that went to a lot.
This is where my wife fell in love with Puzzle Bobble..It's the only game she would play over and over at that Arcade.
That machine brought back memories,..Got me searching for one...Years later to find my Big Red...

The First AES game I've ever played was Baseball Stars 2.......Metal Slug on the NGPC

I think it was Fatal Fury 2 at a bar near a friend's house, when I was 11 or so.

We were in our way to play soccer and saw this arcade in the bar, so we decided to play a match.
I remember I wanted to choose a "cool" character, but time ran out and I ended up with Cheng. My friend laughed at my fat guy, but I beat his Terry. I couldn't get past the 2nd match against the CPU though.

We planned to go to play "the fighing game" again, but when we got there the next Friday, the machine had been replaced by a Pinball :(

For me it was League Bowling and Fatal Fury, which were the first two Neo games I can recall ever seeing, it was at the local Wal-Mart on a 2-slot. I would beg my parents to take me to Wal-Mart just to play the Neo machine hehe. I can't remember the year to be specific but I'm guessing it was around 1992-93.

First timer:

Time: 1991
Place: In the local cinema
Cab: 4-slot
Game: NAM-75 followed by Magician Lord, Ninja Combat, and Baseball Stars

After a couple quarters of NAM and Magician Lord I was hooked. I would bring my headphones and listen to Magician Lord's fantastic music, or hear the awesome Xplozions of NAM...

Its funny though, I didn't care for Ninja Combat back then.

I'm amazed most people played their first game as early as around '91.
Arcades have never been big here, though the amusement park in central Copenhagen had a bunch of arcade cabinets. I'm not sure if there were any Neo Geo machines. I don't remember seeing any Neo Geo games there. Up through the early 90s, the cabinets started disappearing, with the exception from a few 3D racing games and such, and today they only have stuff like Flash of the Blade, Soul Calibur (yes, 1), Tekken 4 and Daytona.
The first time I ever heard of Neo Geo was in a games magazine around 1994, but it still took a couple of years, before I actually got to play a Neo Geo game - On emulator, of course, anything else was unthinkable and nearly impossible.
Today I'm glad to have both my MVS and AES. :)
