I'm looking into building a custom stick and I need to know which joysticks are the most sensitive to movement and most responsive? Sticks that have a tight feel where you only need a minimum amount of travel to complete a move?

question - do they have to be US styled Bat sticks ?
reason I ask is, IMVHO seimitsu and Sanwa japanese style sticks are best, and you can always replace the ball top with a bat handle, personally myself i hate Happs sticks

It has to be US styled bat sticks for continuity sake, I don't want to be "off" when I go to the arcade for face to face competition.

Those Sanwa sticks seem to be closer to what we're used to from the Neo Geo sticks, too..

When it comes to Happ sticks, Competition is the only way to go. They're more solid and way more responsive than Ultimates.

Thanks ResOGlas.

A mordicum of sanity in a sea of sanwa obsessed idiots.

I agree with ResO. Competitions are the way to go if a Happ stick is what you're after - and from what I've seen, they're also the most common type of stick found in Big Red cabs.

most sensitive to movement and most responsive= SUPERS

But IMO they feel loose....But don't take much to complete a move.
Super Easy to full moves off with Supers..I never miss with them.

But I think it's to personal taste so I don't say the others are no good..

I have a mix of all the sticks mentioned in my cabs....Supers are my favorites next to Sanwas.

Super Joystick

Nylon and solid steel construction
Microswitch reliability tested to 10,000,000 cycles
Unique handle design
Spring return-to-center
Rugged construction, our strongest joystick
Change actuation to 4-way or 8-way simply by flipping actuator over
Adjustable shaft length for metal or wood mounting
Gold contact microswitch optional

Another vote for the competition, I love mine... the super is good too and will work well, whatever you do do NOT get the ultimate. The ultimate is the exact opposite of what you would expect based on the name. :shame:
