This is a serious post as I am getting ready to go out and buy a DS.

Although this doesn't officially launch till tomorrow, i have heard some stores are already selling it?

Anyone seen/picked it up?

I thought it wasn't supposed to be in stores until the 8th. I'm definitely getting it, the reviews are pretty positive so far. I was going to grab Asphalt Urban GT, but I figure one racing title on the DS is enough for now.

Haha, it's not like people have to actually choose and only have a PSP or a DS.

Nah man, I just like to play the Devils advocate sometimes.

I don't think the DS is a piece of shit or anything. I am just disappointed in Nintendo and some of their choices. In particular this machine looks like its going to be host to a bunch of N64 ports. And I don't call add touch screen response to these game as innovation. I call it lazy developers wanting to take the easy way out.

I would rather see all new games from the ground up. Or at least heavily upgraded.

It doesn't seem they're going all for N64 ports, I'd assume that they're just doing this temporarily for the launch.

Games like Feel the Magic, Kenshuui Tendo Dokuta, Advance Wars DS, Warioware Touched!, Xenosaga, Viewtiful Joe, and some other announced games all show that the DS isn't relying purely on ports for games.

Well, be forwarned that RRDS is pretty mediocre. Check this thread for the GS review (Rated 6.6, fair):

So...you are warning people that the game is pretty average based on a review from GameSpot?

Thanks for the warning

You might want to put out a couple more warnings for this game then as a couple other places have given this game average reviews as well. Warning!! Warning!!

I think most people buying this game have read some reviews/previews for it. I value opinions from actual gamers that spent their own money on it. Site/Mag reviews are fine for what they are but good or bad they don't impact how I feel about a game.

I have my copy coming in a few days, so I will make up my own mind. However, one cart multi-player was hard to resist. (even if it is only one track)
