Where's the best place to get a good deal on a Cingular phone?

I've been looking for a new Cingular phone for a friend of mine for Christmas and I'm looking for the best deal. I can always go out to my local Cingular store, but since my friend won't be signing a new contract and will be just getting a new phone, the rebates won't apply to me. So in the end, I'm just wanting to know if anyone has any leads or has gotten a good deal on some Cingular phones in the past or as of late.

BTW: I'm looking to spend anywhere from $100-$200, but less is fine with me if it's a good deal. I'm not looking for anything fancy, just a reliable phone with good reception and good battery life with a color screen if possible. Thanks again for any help.

You probably want a Nokia then. Combine their exceptional reception, average or better battery life and colour screen on all but the least expensive phones (actually they may all be colour now) and you have a winnar!

I picked up a couple Nokia 3120's recently and they are great phones for the cash. Not much flash, no silly camera or anything, but a solid phone with excellent reception, colour screen and small size.


The Nokia website lists them at like $150, so I imagine the Cingular stores will sell them outright without a contract for similiar money. All the good deals are with a 2 year contract, of course. With that contract they are $40 each.

Thanks for the help. I checked them out and they looked very nice. I found an auction on Ebay that looks very nice, but I'm not sure if it's worth it since it's open (even though it does come with extra cases and such).

Is this a decent deal for this phone used?

I like the samsung color flip phone. Its right around 200 without a contract.

Well I just picked up a nice phone off of ebay. What do you all think?

I got it all for $85 and the guy lives about 5 miles from me here in town so I don't even have to pay shipping. With everything I think I got a good deal.
