need video card help plz!

i just bought a GeForceFX 5500 for my cpu, is this card better or not as good as the card i now have in my cpu: a top of the line GeForce3...i really need help, my bro want me to return the FX cuz his friend says that its not as good as my GF3 and i should just exchange the FX for an ATI RADION...

I personally like Nvidia better.
IIRC the FX series is A step up from the GF3 but it has been A while.
I say go ahead and try it out, If it is better keep it.
If not take it back and say it's broken.
