Is the Dracula X for the PC Engine the same as the Dracula X for the Saturn? Any help would be great. I wanted to know before I bought the Saturn verseion. Thanks in advance.

No, the Saturn version is the same as SOTN with added rooms and an additional character.

Nope. The Saturn game is just a port of Symphony of the Night. The game on the PC Engine, Dracula X: Rondo of Blood, is only on that system.

Dracula XX on SNES is a semi-port. Follows the storyline (mostly) of Rihiter out to save Annet and Maria, but is much shorter. On the plus side, the graphics in XX on SNES are more atmospheric and elaborate than PC Engine's Rondo of Blood. I also am not a big fan of Rondo's anime-ness in the cut scenes and whatnot. In pretty much every other way, Rondo is the better game, though.

I think SFC Dracula XX gets too much of a hard time, its good in it's own right, some nice graphics and the music is great.

Worth having as well as Rhondo of Blood imo.

Thank god some people with some sense. XX on SNES has a lot to offer. Yeah, Rondo is a much better games over all (I have to say one of the best in the series, if not the best), but XX had a MUCH better color pallet, totaly different (and fun I might add) level design, and some great tunes. It's a wonderful game in it's own right. I only wish Konami had added some extra space on the cart and put in some more alternate stages as there are 2 as opposed to X's alternate for every stage. Ahh well, thats life.

As far as ol' school Castlevania games(Linear) are concerned, I consider this my second favorite out of the series. Castlevania III is the one that bit me the hardest.

Drac X: Rondo comes in second. SotN(Metroid style) is tops in that category.

I'm really surprised to find a lot of the characters in SotN are in Rondo. The Bat, Medusa, Mummy, Frankenstein, and Shaft Duel was Insane. But very Nostalgic as well.

Correct me if i'm wrong but, is Circle of Moon's(first GBA Castlevania) opening intro tune, the File select music in Rondo of the Blood?

It appears indubitably so. I think that CotM is better than most people give it credit for. As far as I know, it doesn't seem to have any Belmonts at all (I believe Reinhart Schneider was of the Belmont line, as well as John Morris--then again, I think Bloodlines' only real reason for being made was to connect the Castlevania mythos with the Stoker tale), which is an interesting change.

Wouldn't surprise me if it was. In the GBC game Metal Gear Ghost Babel when you play the V.R. mission segment {The Armed mode} the music is actually the song "Level 1 Warning" from the original MSX only sequel Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake.

No way. PC Engine Dracula X is eons ahead of the Saturn. However at the beginning of the Saturn version, or Symphony of the Night on PS1, you play the final battle of PCE Drac-X to show where the story left off.

do yourself a favor and just get BOTH. They are both GREAT, but in difrrent ways. Saturn Dracula XX SOTN (like super metroid) is a sequal to Dracula X pc engine (old-school, closer to castlevania III, with branching paths). The saturn version is a port of the psx sotn, except it is missing transperancies, but you can play the three characters from the get-go and it add 3 stages.....Both have the anime feel, in fact the Saturn/psx version reuses some of the same sprites from the engine.
