Alot of the games I thought were awesome 10 years ago haven't aged all that well. Stuff like Warhawk, Destruction Derby, Twisted Metal...those games are eyesores now.

I beg to differ about not aging well........

In looks yes.

But for example Destruction Derby 2 hasnt been bettered by it's sequels, neither has Wipeout 2097/XL.

Probably because Psygnosis used to own, now resemble something homo like Playmore.

I remember 1994, when the PlayStation was still the "PSX" and Sony was showing the famous T-Rex tech demo.

I remember that demo.

It was really impressive.

I also recall the first PlayStation dev mettings, where the developers would show footage from the first PlayStation games such as... Zero Divide (I love that game).

Happy B-Day PSX. I bought so many games for that damn thing in my RPG days. I even bought Diablo when I already had it on PC. Come to think of it, I bought Soul Reaver on my PSX when I had it on PC too. Quake 2 also. God I was dumb back then. Here's to 10 more years PSX :buttrock:

I used to spend hours playing with that on the demo disc.

I still remember my first Playstation...heh, I'm looking at it right now. Unfortunately it finally gave out on me last month and haven't had time to fix it yet. Battle Arena Toshinden and Raiden Project were the first games I bought...still have Raiden Project in my collection in that oversized jewel case :smirk:

I don't think it was sony that made the game market crap, it was the developers and publishers that took advantage of the popularity of the system and made shitty games for a quick buck. They ruined it. Sony made videogames more mainstream and widely accepted as a real entertainment medium.

Now I know how the makers of the atomic bomb felt.

I embraced it from the get-go because I was a total Ridge Racer whore.
Now that I see the damage the Sony hardware has wrought across the industry in terms of killing innovation and great small companies, I feel like I helped let the genie out of the bottle.

Nintendo didn't help things either by making the shitty N64, nor did Sega by making the Saturn so fucking difficult to develop for (as well as alienating their fanbase with so many shitty Genesis peripherals.

Never owned a PSX, but I still remember the UR NOT E commercials, and the ones with Crash outside of the NOA building. Good times.

(Remember when Mario 64 came out and we all spent hours making Mario's nose look like a penis, and stretching his moustache up to look like pubes?)
