Last gwar album I bought was carnival of chaos back in 97. Was kind of let down. Was browsing the music section at the local store and came accross War Party. This album is outstanding. The punkish/thrash metal is back. With outstanding lyric writing. Most of the album is gwar's views on everyone's political/war agenda today. Even have a track called the Reaganator a reincarnated Reagan leads a future war machine. CD includes live footage of "Womb with a View". Get to watch Gwar disembowl GWB, Osama, and Mike Tyson. Spurting blood galore.

Of course there is a new music video to accompany the album

War Party: http://www.drt-entertainment.com/videos/gwar/GWAR-War Party.wmv

If you like scumdogs or any of the earlier shit, go buy this album now.

I've always liked Gwar for their college punk metal with a humourist twist.
From Hell-O to this, I've dug their stuff.

You'd have to be a blithering bohab to not.

It's heavier than toilet earth, you should like it. Also pick up Violence has Arrived. Heaviest gwar album to date IMO.

In my experiance with Gwar, No song or album is particularly greater than the next...... I'd just jump on a fileshare and try out whatever you can find...

If your going to buy, why not just pick up the new album?

All this makes me wish for a new Green Jello/y album...

Green Jello/y was the World's worst band (fans should get that one.)
It's amazing how long it's been since 333 and Cereal Killer.

More bands should dress up in elaborate props and just lose it on stage. Wild stuff, and it makes concerts unbelievable.

Lagduf: Check out The Road Behind. It's a great album, considering it only has six tracks. Some are alternate versions of songs on other CDs, but it's a good introduction/re-introduction to the band.
Try Hell-O just to see their beginnings (as Gwar,) and basically buy everything else they've put out.

If you're not up with the Slave Pit, pick up Ragnarok to learn more about Cardinal Syn, Ragnarok itself and the Gwar mythos.

I had actually found a torrent of the new album about 3 weeks or so before its release date in late Oct.
I picked up the actual cd about 2 weeks ago.

I've seen them in concert 5 times, nothing compares to seeing Gwar live in concert. Their shows are always insane.
I'm always up in front so I always end up soaked.
After one show we got pulled over by a cop right near my house. He though all 5 of us were actually covered in real blood and called for back up. In about 20 seconds we had 4 cop cars surrounding us.
We all presented the officers with our ticket stubs and I even invited them all into my house to watch one of my Gwar DVDs.
They declined and sent us on our way.

Out of all my encounters with the police as a youth, this one made me the most nervous! The first cop who stopped us was scared as shit and had his hand on his gun the whole time.

If you get the chance to see Gwar live, do it! Just dont get soaked with the blood of the on stage sacrifices then get stopped by the cops.

Ron McRae: I wanted to see them at Harpo's in Detroit a few years back but some groups were protesting it. Decided it was best to avoid any potential volatile situations in downtown Detroit. :mr_t:

Man, five shows, though. That's kickass - cool story too, by the way! I can just imagine what that would have been like for you guys.
How have you managed to get to the front each time?
