At my local TRU they're having a 70% off sale on some items. You never know what you might find. If you got little nephews or sons to please, there's for example a giant battle castle set on discount for just $10.50. Their regular price is 34.95 and on eBay these babies can go for some heavy dough.

Some guy online directed me to go to my local TRU because they are now selling "Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy" for PS2 for just $5.99! I've wanted that game since it came out and got it for a hell of a deal! Just a heads up.

Ain't that the truth. This one Toys R Us here in SATX still had some SNES games brand new for sell about half a year ago. Contra III ontop of it all to boot!

It was teh Mexican Contra III reprint from Majesco, but if you just want to play the damn thing, rock ass.

I've got some Christmas shopping to do, maybe I'll hit that tomorrow morning.
Its best to stay the fuck away from those places on weekends this time o' year.

TRU used to be the greatest place for games, with all the new releases and obscure games. Now most of their games are sold out, and they don't take risks with obscure games. Sad.

Sad but too true. *The best gamer years of my life were in the 80's to early 90's going into a TOYS R US and yanking off the paper reciepts with the respective games' name on it and a sku number and taking it to the front register to be processed, pay for it... then have to wait ten minutes for someone to go to the game shack to fetch the game.

That yanking the paper thing just brought back so many memories! My first video game I bought from toys r us was Ghost House on sega master system. I think my second was Miracle Warriors. I LOVED miracle warriors. My brother who wasnt old enough to read beat it before i did though :(

Its like the entertainment of grabbing this slip of paper and walking it to the storage closet was a freebee or something.

Way back in the day, Child World did the same thing, you guys remember them?
I'll never forget the day that my family and I waited outside CW on a cold Sunday for 15 min before they opened when I read they had SMB2 for NES. My bro and I fought through dozens of other people RACING like mad fighting to get a SMB2 ticket. The game's tickets were all taken in all of about 52 seconds or something like that. Kids on the floor, their parents guarding them while everybody else fought like football players to get SMB2... I was so proud to be a part of that .... the memories...

Wow Child World, that was so long ago I still remember where it used to be when I shopped...
I too remember the days of grabbing a slip of paper for games at TRU.

Yes folks, get the good deals while you can. Just finished up a financial analysis of Toys R Us for my accounting class, and it doesnt look too hot. They have put the Toy division up for auction, although they would prefer to sell the entire division in one lump rather than break it down into pieces. Potential buyers most likely wont continue selling toys, rather they would by out the chain for the real estate. As for the future of Toys R Us the company, well it looks like they are going to focus on their more profitable Babies R Us division.

Aaugh. Spent thirty minutes getting there and asking three employees; they didn't have the sale.

BTW they had rather violent video games in stock for it being a childrens' store (GTA, etc.). Then again it's Texas :)

You mean for Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy? What was its price? The one I went to it's marked as $8.95... and when they ring it up it should go to $6.47 total or $5.99.

How much was it at your TRU? 20 bucks?

And anyway, GameStop are selling Sphinx used for 10 bucks.
