I figure it won't hurt to let you guys know this guy is a grade A turd burgler.

Back when I won his Sonic Wings 3, I asked him respectfully to allow me NOT to buy it, and just let me pay his paypal fees so he could relist it. See, it was sunfaded, and I didn't realize it until I had already bought the cart. Still, this guy sells sunfaded stuff, or poorly described merchandise, and enjoys making money off unsuspecting or inexperienced buyers. He's a dangerous guy to collectors and gamers because by selling shit condition games at high prices, he rises the prices as a whole on games. At the same time, collectors who don't care about prices will have to buy another cart for their collection; and so Yamatoku is a waste of time and money.

This isn't a debate. I just want to slam him openly for what he's doing. As far as resellers go, he's the most lacquered pile of shit in the can. And unless the game is a real steal, I would wholehearted suggest not buying from him. If you don't send him your money, he won't be able to jack prices both here and in Japan (oh yes...).

I heard that he overrates the condition of his carts and his shipping is a little expensive, but I considered ordering from him. I don't care much about the condition of the games, in fact I'll take just the cart for a decent game if it means half the price.

Still, I prefer Maiko. Is Bivari any good then? I haven't tried them yet.

There's some other place that I've ordered from a few times but I can't remember the name for the life of me.

Bivari is a great seller. I buy loads from him and its always top stuff unless stated. Depends on how your "mint" is to someone elses "mint" but really it is good stuff.

Thanks a million for the heads up on Yamatoku. He's had a lot of items up for sale that seemed high, and I'd heard mixed things about him. This ices it for me, I'd rather takes my chances elsewhere. Anyone have any info on palet_th?

I've had problems with him as well. I bought Super Sidekicks 1 from him once for $9 and I paid for EMS shipping and he sent it snail mail. Took 8 weeks to arrive. A day later I bought Sam. Show1, 2 and 3 from him for the low low price of $50 and I'd paid for that EMS shipping as well. Needless to say he fugged up and mailed that snail mail as well. Still haven't recieved that and I bought that 3-4 months ago. He refunded the ss 1, 2 and 3 cash after a straight month of bitching and some slapping from ebay, but the super sidekicks he still refuses to refund the $20 difference in shipping costs.

I'd have to agree to stay the fuck away from this person. Their prices have been real high lately and their shipping prices are through the roof. Stay away (insert spooky music here).

Palet_th... I think I ordered something from there which was really expensive. Isn't that the guy who sells capsule toy sets for like $49.99?

Good service though.

Well, I've had great transactions with him.
Still, of course I prefer NBM or Maiko...people whom you can trust with descriptions.

I bought a bunch of Saturn games from him. Good prices for the unknown games, not so good on the rare stuff.
He has every Saturn game you could ever want though.

Yamatoku seems happy to oblige if you ask for extra pics, but for one reason or another I've never bought anything from him.
Some of his shipping prices are horrendous to the UK. $100+ EMS for an AES? WTF? They're not that heavy! For that price I'd expect delivery in 24 hours!

Yeah, seems like he's playing the eBay set for fools.

I'll skip his stuff from now on.

I've bought a couple of items from palet_th, everything got shipped out quickly and for a reasonable price. They seem to have a much more objective and accurate rating system for their games.
I bought a neo nectaris off them and even though the media was rated a "B" there were no scratches or scuffs, just a bit of goop that wiped off leaving no residue.

Take yamatoku for what it is: a company that sells Neo games without any knlowedge about them.

If the game's described as "great" you know you'll get a mint copy of that game. But beware of sunfading...

If the game's described as "good" you bid at your own risk: you can either receive a mint copy (my Joy Joy kid is flawless, a truly gem) or a damaged one.

It's up to you.

I've bought stuff from palet_th, jackeccs, and bivari and they're all good sellers in my book. Never dealt with Yamatoku and now I never will.

I've never had any problems with Yamatoku. I bought most of my AES and CD collection from them, and everything arrived within seven days.

Just last week I bought Garou Densetsu 1 + 2 and RB special from them, and they arrived in 'immaculate' condition.

This yamatoku guy always gave fake/not clear description. What he describe as excellent is actually 'near-ugly'.

Palet is a good seller, but,

He has the best Engrish EVER!

Sometimes he sends people who bought from him before, e-mails that he will be on vacation and stuff. Nice gesture, but the Engrish-meter goes off the scale! ;)

He only describes things as being either 'Good' or 'Great', but you can tell from the photos (usually) as they are of the exact item up for auction.

Okay number 1# it's EMS who charges outragious shipping prices not Yamatoku. Everybody in Asia who ships through EMS charges $12.00 for a CD and at least $20.00 for a AES cart.

2# I have never seen him put up a item that was damaged, sun faded, CD has any scratch or even missing a spine card with out stating it first.

3# The Saturn games I have order from have always been in better shape than he stated. I once ordered Rockman X3 for Saturn and it was stated in good shape and when I got it it looked brand new same goes for the Eightman AES cart that my friend ordered from him.

Well I agree, I bought RBS and RB2 from him and both came as described they were not sunfaded.

I sure did not like their customer service and I didn't save shit on shipping for the two games. They both came in fast, but their packaging is poor.

There seems to be some mixed feelings about Yamatoku. I myself have bought a few AES-games from him. Most recently SS1 - $18, KoF97 - $90 and KoF99 - $110. I think those prices seems fair and the games arrived in quite nice condition. The only thing I can complain about was the KoF99 cart which had some scratches on it, but then again, it was only described as GOOD.

Overall I am quite satisfied so far, but I normally try to find the game I want on these forums first.
