As some of you know, I began doing a periodical lesson for the guitar players here, in which I gave "Lessons" on particular parts of the instument and music theory in practice. I became bogged (in a good way) with teaching and my Ph.D work, so I had to stop them for a while.

Now that I have a little extra free time, I was wondering if there is an interest in me bringing a monthy lesson back to the boards. If there is enough interest, I'll do it as long as my teaching and Ph. D work stays steady.

For those of you new to the boards, use the search and look up "Neo-Geo Guitar lesson". The info will be there. Otherwise, if everybody else would post and let me know what they think, I can begin posting some lessons if the interest is there.

Let me know!!! :buttrock:

Shit, I remember way back when you did those. Good times. I'd be interested in them. I'd only need some more advanced stuff, I guess. Although I don't know any scale theory. I'd love to learn sweep picking if you could teach that kind of stuff. :buttrock:

I picked up the Bass for the first time last night. I've had a guitar for a couple years, and never knew how to play it. I have no idea where or how to start, so I look like a total ass... Either way, I'm lost and I'd enjoy any sort of suggestion, or lesson I could get....

Tons, but first you need a decent guitar. What kind of music are you planning on playing? In my 12 years of teaching, I have seen some great, and some really bad guitars for beginners. One of the best is the Godin Radiator. It goes for about $400, but has the worth of a $800 guitar. This isn't the kind of beginner guitar that you will eventually get rid of for a better one. Godin makes some of the finest guitars in the world, and the radiator is a flexable guitar for almost any style. You can also try the Godin SD, which is actually a better guitar for the same price. It has a nicer pick-up selection, but it's more geared towards blues, metal and rock.

Anyway, must be off to teach!!!!

Yes please, I've been practising alot of the my electric guitar since I got it.
Being able to play alot of song just after 3 month's of having the guitar, and each other week 1 lesson, I think it's pretty good :).

Lessons would be kind of hard... especially considering people are on various skill levels around here. Maybe something like transcribing a video game tune and discussing it's musical merits or something of the such.. so it's sorta on topic.

I've tried playing a guitar using books and what not. Didn't work for me. The guitar isn't really my instrument anyway. I plan on taking drum lessons in the near future.

Good luck with your playing all of you though. Post MP3s when you get good! :buttrock:

if i knew where you lived (and it was real close like in my basement) then i would abuse our ng.c relationship to gain access to all the free guitar lessons i could before kicking you out (of said basement).

thx you.

Like learning hot to move from the E to the A string and reading tabs? You suck.
