Shit, yeah. Bring on the armed robot brigade. Even if it may eventually mean doom for us all when they gain sentience and decide humans are a disease. :tickled:

I've seen these things on the news before...

They're supposedly for perimeter/sentry positions only... but that still doesn't make me all that confident in their ability to discern what is good to shoot at and what is really bad.

NS! After all they're programmed by humans so theres always that small percentage of error. Any chance for error is too much when your dealing w/ an armed robot imo.

Oh brother ....

We're not talking about the Terminator here, people. It's essentially a remote-controlled vehicle with a gun mounted on it. Please don't start the conspiracy theories about man vs. machine just yet ... :oh_no:

And even if it were a Terminator-like device, everyone involved would be a lot better off. As long as it doesn't use Windows 95, 98, or ME as an operating system. :kekeke:

Human error > Machine error

Anyway, I think this is a great idea - especially as a way to root out terrorists. Drive one of these into their headquarters, and tell them to come out with their hands up or get their asses blown to bits.

While it would be very messed up in reality...

Wouldn't there be some sick irony if the insurgents happen to have some tech heads among them who're able to override any control over the robot death machine and then use them against us?

Ironic? yes.

Possible? no.

I'm sure the media will make a big hoopla about these machines, but they're really not all that exciting from a technical standpoint. If they had any sort of AI incorporated into them, that might be interesting. But honestly, AI isn't presently all that advanced from a theoretical standpoint, much less a practical one.

I take it you and your friends never had remote control cars when you were kids. Hm.
