ok the story goes like this. im checking out a tax class in the big city in the nc (charlotte) which is about thirty minutes from where i live. im heading back home after class and this guy decides to cut me. i was on the fast lane in the freeway and the lane was clearing up. so i was going around 75 mph at the time and wanted to get home. well im speeding down and i see this white truck on the slow lane and he takes it upon himself to cut into my lane but not in front of me, beside me. so im passing him and he throws his truck. i don't even have enough time to use the horn and i have no choice but to brake and steer to the left to avoid him. their was debris on that side and when i was avoiding him i hit it and that jerked my car to the right so hard that i find myself spinning down the highway. so all i hear is my car, see nothing but smoke and after doing a 980 on highway 85, the car stops. but im facing oncoming traffic. i knew i was dead from checking out a semi and a bunch of cars speeding in my direction. then almost in a flash ( and with the grace of God) i manage to swing my car the right way and throw it into a ditch. as far as i can tell im going to need new tires and my alineiment (sp) fixed. i managed to make it home, drop to my knees, and thanked God. scared the holy hell out of me. im not taking anything for granted again. anyone else have a simular fun experience like i have?

I did something like that once at about 100=mph in a 86 Sable......

I was lucky enough to be on a two lane highway. No oncommng traffic. I did spin backwards in front of a minvan tho.

I was unlucky because I went into the median and took out a total of 4 signs/markers. Once smashed the Driver window, one went through the windshield, one ripped the gas tank to shreds and one hit the trunk and busted the shit out of it.

i did that once in tahiti, but it was in a 2000 citroen xsara that was fully modded for racing and sponsored by castrol. and it wasn't oncoming traffic it was other cars in the rally race heading right for my little red citroen. but it's okay i'm Sebastian Loeb. WRC racer, and 4 time winner.

I had a similar incident once a couple years back. Makes you truely relish the life you do have...and also made me glad I have a personal relationship with Christ. :) Thanked God the entire way home. My car stopped directly in the center lane, dead straight, and facing the right way. It was incredibly odd.

By Victor Loeb, do you mean Sebastien Loeb? :spock:

Yeah, but check the time on your edit and check the time of my post. ;)

Alister McRae raced this year for a privateer team, but I'm sure you actually mean Colin McRae. I heard Colin would race for Skoda next year, but I'm not sure how accurate the source is on that.

Last month, I was on my way home from work when this stupid woman makes a left turn on a red light knowing she couldn't make it. She stopped in the middle of the road and I hit her, my head almost cracking the window of the driver side (I suffered from whipflash). My dad came within minutes and was so worried about me... that truely showed me that family will be there for you ALWAYS! :buttrock:

Yeah, that fucking pisses me off when someone turns left on red and I've had the green for at least 2-3 seconds. What I usually do (when I'm in front) is try to give the fucker running the red light a bit of a scare by driving up a bit when I see my green light.

A few years back I went around a turn on Ohio 680 (ICY) and spun in a complete circle and faced forward...

I pulled over to the side of the road and sat for a half hour...

Been in a few of those myself. Near death experiences always make me quite glad to be alive. Knowing you almost snuffed it and didn't makes everything so much more real. The narrower the margin, the greater the feeling.

Yeah, Skoda has their full team ready just today. :p

Now it seems that Colin's last chance for a drive in WRC is to be with Ford.

Oh and here's the article on where the talks between Colin and Skoda stopped:

I'm personally looking forward to Colin McRae's second entry in the Paris-Dakar Rally with Nissan. :)

I couldn't do that cause she did it when I was within' 15 feet of the light. It was hard not to curse this woman out in spanish (I didn't though) but I was just devistated... what made it worse was she had no insurance.

I blew a tire while doing 90 in a 1976 Mercedes Benz (my first car)

It was ridiculous... I probably should have died.

This year McRae will be more involved with the development of the Nissan Rally Raid Team Pickup (which is based on the road-going Pickup Single Cab 4x4)

You can see the pictures of Nissan's pickup on this page http://motortrend.com/features/news/112_news040805_mcraedakar/. I think the last time I remember a car was in Paris-Dakar was the Porsche 959.

My Freshman year in college, I tried to drive back from Tallahassee to Ft. Lauderdale w/ another person. The thing was I never drove on the highway at night. I let him get behind the wheel because I was getting tired and he tried to get over to a gas station in Wildwood when--out of nowhere--the right side of the car gets clipped by an oil tanker. The front passenger wheel is blown, the side mirror is gone (but recovered later on), and the car has sustained some body damge. After we got the tired changed and I called home to let my folks know what happened, we try it again.

Later on that same night, I feel asleep on the wheel and we spun out into the median on the FL turnpike. Not only was the spare tire destroyed, but one of the back tires blew out and we had to push the car over to the Northbound ditch. I walked up to an emergency call booth, but no luck. So we just went to sleep i the car for the rest of the night. We woke up in the morning to walk back to the phone booth when an elderly couple in a caravan pulled over and gave us a ride to a service plaza. After some phone calls and the assistance from AAA, I had the car towed to Ft. Pierce but left the guy at the plaza. My folks went up to the plaza to see about him and waited for his folks to come while I was getting the car serviced about 40 miles away. They all met up at the shop and remove his luggage and they about their way. My folks took me to Denny's and I was slipping in and out of sleep due to the night's events. So, my grandfather drove my car while I was knocked out in my aunt's car that was driven by my grandmother. Eventually, we got the car fixed but since the guy never said anything, not even once, about paying me back, I just decided to cut him off and life went on. This was about 2 years ago. I remember the date vividly because it was exactly two months before my birthday, July 27.

So, in essence, I experienced 2 car accidents in one night. The morals of the story for me: never drive on the highway late at night and don't give rides home to niggas from Miami.

Living is overrated. $18,000 hospital bill and oh yeah, a $8000 car.

If I had a choice, I would of rather died than live the next decade of my life paying off these bills. And don't give me that shit about insurance, they only gave me $5000, thats right, only FIVE FUCKEN THOUSAND and I have clean record too. USA HEALTH CARE = W. BUSH

I got hit almost head on by a Public Transit Bus going about 35-40 MPH, when I was 18.

It was my fault, I was looking at some advertisement stapled onto a telephone pole, and when I looked forward I just saw this huge bus coming fast, right at me.

My whole life flased by in a second. All I did was get hit in the face by the middle of the steering wheel, and had some glass shatter in my face. I walked away with just a bruised face.

If you would have seen my car you would have thought I was seriously hurt, or dead. My car looked like Princess Diana's car did the night she died.

God kept me, because I thought my life was over in like a 3 second period.

Nice to hear you guys ok.

Well, what can I say except there are a lot of fucking idiot drivers out there. Either they're too damn aggressive driving, or too damn slow and passive. You have to somewhere in the middle.

And with this being the Holiday season, I'd avoid driving in traffic-congested areas, especially on a Friday or Saturday afternoon... these are when the worst drivers come out, people in a fucking rush to do shopping, speeding past red lights... best to just stay the hell out of a vehicle and be home chilling with the loved ones.
