I believe they actually recorded enough footage to make it run for a little over 5 hours, but was deened nit worthy.

I don't think you're missing much. I watched one of them, I think it was the last one, and although there were a few cool scenes, the fucking movie dragged on way too long, and got boring as hell because of that.

If it had an ending it was the last one.

Meh, I'm a book nerd, this is the way it should have come out in theaters, and it still doesn't change the fact the scouring of the Shire was never even filmed.

I'm a book nerd too, and the first film was ok... but the second... turned from a boring-run-through-the-forest to a boring-blah-blah-blah. So, I didn't feel encouraged enough to watch the third.

Maybe I'll buy all the 3 in their extended versions one day, just to feel a major letdown, maybe.

You can't just watch the last film and say it's a bad movie. You have to watch all three to appreciate the story and the characters and everything they go through. Or just read the book, it's faster.

Well, I feel most people went into the first not expecting much, with the foreknowledge that Tom Bombadil was removed, all of that. I was really happy with FOTR but it raised unreasonable expectations for the sequels. Plus Faramir was a total cock in TTT.

The death of Wormtongue and Saruman is not very interesting.

holy shit thats a long ass movie. :eek:

i rather enjoyed the first one but the other two meh. too much damn cg and some of it done very poorly i might add.

when you step back and look at all 3 "complete" movies it does seem pretty epic though i must admit.
