S-10? I thought you had a RAM?

If you're going small pickup at least get the Dakota, even before the '05s they're the best small pickup you can get.

Man that sucks. *But look at it this way, it's not as bad as this Rear end blow out down the page on the left handside. That truly is something to make faces about.

I do have a Ram, I'm keeping it, but DAMN.

Those axles are bigger than H1's

I work at an extended warranty company and chryslers are known for blowing rear ends. Don't get a used one as it won't last.

Its not a Chrysler rear, its a Dana, and they NEVER go bad, but one of the bearings on the pinion started to go.

I heard a humming noise comming from the back, almost like a tire out of balance.

I run 37" tires, so I'm thinking its O.K.

This morning I jump on the freeway and its a little bumpy, kind of weird noises when I would turn.

So I jump in the truck for the lumberyard and POP! there it goes....

I drove it to my mechanic and chewed the fuck out of the inside of the pumpkin.

Oh well.

My truck isn't spectacular to begin with.

Here it is on 35"s

dana 60's eh? what'd you hit? a concrete barrier? those things aren't weak at all so you had to have smacked something pretty hard. hell my friend had an international scout with dana 44's and he could rock climb and go mudding and everything and never damaged those damn axles. what you should do is put a tire lift on there when you put on the new axles so as to give em a bit more leeway. and then make sure the steering arm and tie rod are the same length so that you don't run into steering issues which could snap the thing as well.

oops didn't see your post about how you had it on 37's, or that the bearings were seemingly missing. or that the pumpkins were stripped. that fucking sucks dude. you've really got no choice but to drop more money into this thing and put it all back together. 4-wheel parts are a bitch.

Danas are famed for their reliability.

Sorry to hear about it, I've blown several 10 bolt GM differentials (expected) but to hear about the demise of a Dana disheartens me a bit.

Anyways, throw a new one in and keep rolling.
