Hi everyone, I have decided that I want to build my own consolized system. However, I don't have any info on doing so. These are the features that I want to build with a 6 slot mvs board.

NeoBitz component/S-Video/composite encoder
Unibios 2.0
controller ports
power switch

Does anyone have any Websites that explains how to do it? Step by step, etc.. Additionally, where could go I to pickup the supplies to build the consolized. I could pick a mvs board on Ebay. Thanks.

I'm consolizing a 2-slot for someone and I've taken pictues of it so that I can document it for my site...

Generally, you would need:

Power Switch (Radio Shack)
Power Socket (Digi-Key for screwless version)
Power Adapter (Jameco)
Neobitz Board (Me ;) )
RCA Jacks for Component, Stereo, Composite (Various places)
SVideo Jack (Various places)

Some wire, soldering iron, solder, drill, various bits, etc...

I'm not sure if the Jameco power supply that everyone uses has enough juice for a 6 slot though -- would need to do some testing. I don't have a 6 slot here to measure watt usage.

I think that's about it in a nutshell. If you have any questions, just let me know or ask it here -- someone should be able to help you along. It may be a couple weeks before I get my how-to guide up on my site.

Hi, Yes you are right about the 6 slot needing another power supply, as there is not enough juice in a jameco power supply.
You will need a Arcade Power supply for that one.
Cheers

No, it can be done with a desktop PSU just as well.

Awesome, I can't tell you how much this would help me. Plus, this would serve as a helpful guide to other people wanting to go this route as well. I guess we could share advices and suggestions... I'll setup my own documentation to building one as well. Probably build a supergun after completing a consolized.

As to the power supply for a 6 slot, a desktop psu should do the trick. Hey Jeff, are you planning to use the case that comes with the mvs board or build your own? I might consider building my own casing for it. I'll have to contemplate on the material.
