Here is my problem. When I play KoF 03 the sound works fine for a few matches then out of no where it kicks out. A match or 2 later, the SFX come back on but no BGM. Then a few more matches the BGM comes back. I'm sure it's not the wiring, I'm pretty sure this has to do with the MVS cart. Maybe the slot is dirty on the PCB? Not a huge issue, just looking for some opinions. Thanks in advance guys! :)

Do you have a MV-1? I ask because I have spoke to somone else with the same problem plus they had game resetting too. Bacically they bought a Universe Bios v2.0 off of me and it helped the situation but it did not solve it completly.

If you have a MV-1 I think it may be a case of it not liking the newer games, but If could be related to a psu problem or dirty contacts like chris1 says.

I think it's a 1 or a 1F, I'll double check tonight. Anyways I gave the cart a good cleaning problem still came up. One time it even sounded like it went through all of the sounds (Music notes ect.) Kinda weird, I think I heard an mp3 of the same thing when someone ripped the sound from the game. I was thinking about getting one of those bios chips soon...

Thanks guys

I'm getting a similar problem with a brand new Samurai Showdown V cart + MV-1F in stereo mod.
all contacts on cart and pcb are perfect cleaned.
Basically the sound go out at last boss then it return when restart a new match.
I'm not using Universal bios.

pull the cart out slightly?

sometimes i get graphical/sound errors if the cart is pushed to far into the mb.

the MV1-F is Vertical mounted on a wooden base inside a Astro Cab . Maybe sometimes the cart isn't correctly pushed in or loose contact with PCB connector.
Its very very strange that I never have a problem apart with Samurai Showdown V and Metal Slug 4.

Try cleaning the motherboards connectors...and clearing the back-up memory.
Clearing the back-up memory should have no effect with what's happening with the current two carts.
but with other games that I don't know the symtoms it may help.

I'm probably that guy :)

My MV-1 is flakey with all newer games. ROTD is totally a lost cause. MS5 would frequently lose all audio and would eventually lock-up. KOF 2K3 would occassionally lose all audio.

Oddly enough after installing Unibios 2.0 MS5 now no longer loses audio nor does it lock-up. A definite improvement.

KOF 2K3 still ocassionally loses audio, but sound FX now always remain. Ocassionally the wrong BGM plays. Different behavior but not much of an improvement.

Your mileage may vary.

All testing was all performed with clean slots and clean carts. And the carts have always played fine in 4 and 6 slot MVS boards.
