Use a sharp drill and don't push too hard...Let it cut gradually..
Also use something like a punch to make a starter mark for the drill so it doesn't walk on you..(heat up a Ice Pic tip on the stove/make a small hole for drill to go in.)
................................................................................
Forgot to ask...
You got the keys today..how did that go?..

cake! $7.50 for the tubular key copy and I am in my CP no problem.

good plan with the heated pick. I think I will use a small nail and then maybe a bit bigger nail. Then whole isn't too big. 1/4 inch I think... I have a $35 bit that I will use and use some oil on it as well. If I ever choose to go push button for the pause, I can just make the whole a bit bigger.

I am going to do all of this in the morning. Little Thanksgiving present to myself ;)

I use a cheap soldering iron when I have to pilot plastic... same idea as the ice pick...

there's an idea as well...I do have the extra soldering iron with sharp tip just sitting around that I never use.

well, it worked :)

the switch is small and out of the way

It's hooked up via an RCA jack mounted on the 4 slot's shell. This way, I can mount the same rca setup on my pgm system and put that in there and use the same switch just by unplugging it from one system and hooking it up to another. I am tired, so the pgm will have to wait until the morning.

I threaded the two wires from the rca jack through the small hole for that white thing on the side of the motherboard and then through the hole that goes through the side of the motherboard's controller port. The hole comes out about an inch from the two spots on the 8th dip.

yeah, I am happy with it. I am just glad that I can go get the phone and still come back to my game of baseball stars 2 :)

I can't wait to get the rca jack on the pgm system. Sometimes I need to rest my hands during Demon Front ;)

Nice mod! I'd use a button instead of a toggle switch though, it would look better...

thanks!

And I agree.... I can always take the toggle switch out and make the hole bigger for a button. I want to look around first until I can find one that will mount without screws. Most buttons I have found at radio shack or my local parts store are either screw mounts or momentary....or they look like crap! I would like to get one that looks like that game switch button but is on/off and not momentary.

I used this button for an AES bios switch (it's not momentary). They're pretty common here:

That would work. I am going to go to my parts store again on saturday when they get their shipment unpacked.....at least that's when they said their parts truck was coming this month and they would have things on the shelves.

thanks for the pic. I will keep an eye out for something of that style.

that's cool. I am actually wishing I had put somehting in the middle that looked more like it belonged on the CP. I may take this switch out, drill a similar whole on the other side, see if I can find some mountable single headphone jacks, put those on the sides, and then put a nicer looking button in the middle. Not sure if it will work....I may just leave it alone....besides swaping in a cooler looking button.

I haven't really looked into that, but I will tomarrow :)
